Shawn Bosco Fernandes, known by his stage name Shawn Desman, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer and choreographer of Portuguese and Italian descent. He began his career recording Portuguese albums and touring before transitioning to mainstream pop/R&B music. Desman's 2002 self-titled debut album went gold in Canada with hits like "Shook" and "Get Ready." His 2005 album Back for More won the Juno Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. Further successes include the platinum singles "Night Like This" and "Electric" from his 2010 album Fresh, which earned him a Video of the Year award at the Much Music Video Awards and Canadian Dance/Pop Song of the Year at the Stylus Awards. In 2013, Desman released the album Alive along with an accompanying short film that won Outstanding Short Film at the Reel World Film Festival. After a hiatus to focus on family, he made a comeback in 2022 after being invited by Drake to perform at OVO Fest, leading to his single "Maniac." Desman has also co-founded the duo RadioClub with Tebey and worked as a producer for artists like Nick Carter and Kreesha Turner.
