CMT Music fest @ burls creek

by trailertrash on 2011-09-06Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

Very unorganized! Need more than 1 gate for people to enter and exit. If you only have so many sites for premium than sell that many tickets!!! There was several campers who paid for premium but did not get their premium spot. I paid for premium I expect nothing less. Non premium camping got the use of premium facilities. Definately not returning unless the venue is better organized, very poor setup

    Not quite Havelok

by Whiskyb on 2011-09-03Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

Excellent venue, the grounds are amazing. Poor organization from the show producers. many people without services in the camping area that they paid for. Heavy police presence. Why in this day and age I cannot walk 200' from my trailer to the event with a drink id stupid. Because only festival bought drinks(including water) and food were allowed into the festival it caused a stampede after every group back to the campground to eat drink and be merry. Repeat again after next band. All this really did was encourage power drinking in the campgrounds. The bands themselves were good (except that one rappin fool) I would most likely attend again

Entertainment was excellent. Camping was good. Very much enjoyed our first year at this event. Would prefer the "Havelock" atmosphere where we can take our own beverages and food along with us to the event. I think the entertainers need to be preped on where they are. Too often they referenced "Canada". Canada is a big country....couldn't they narrow it down to the Province or better yet the town/city they are in. Would they ever say "Its good to be in the United States"??

lady a amazing at cmt fest

by santa2209 on 2011-09-02Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

This was the first time i ever went to anything like this and i wasnt disappointed.. It was amazing saw entertainers i never heard of before and enjoyed most of them. Lady A and Blake Shelton were my favorites. Ronny Dunn and Cord Lund were very enjoyable too. I camped but think next year i will stay in a hotel. The camping was good, just not my thing. I will definetly return next year it they have it again.. If i had a complaint it would be that if you had a lawn chair you had to sit back so far..I did go and stand by the stage for my favorites...all in all i loved it Thanks for a good time... Tami

    Amazing performers!

by JluvsRF on 2011-09-01Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

Can't believe I got so "up close and personal" with country music all-stars like Rascal Flatts, Lady A, Blake Shelton and Sara Evans!!! Also was very pleasantly surprised by Dean Brody and George Canyon - they were equally amazing!! Was able to get right up to the stage with my husband and teenage daughters... glad to see that the front area was not reserved for the VIP passes only! Loved meeting some of the CMT hosts as well and getting autographs and pictures with them and a few of the performers! It was a truly wonderful weekend and we will surely plan to attend again next year!! Thank you CMT and Burls Creek!

The entertainment line-up was really good. The sound system was really great. Now for the bad points: Not enough vendors selling their goods. The food was too expensive, the fact that you couldn't take your own food or drink past the gate was unacceptable. The cost for a bottle of water was too high. The entry gates didn't open until after 12 noon was too restricting, this limited the time you had to shop. If there were more vendors that would have been a really big issue. You need to take some tips from the Havalock Jamboree and combine the best rules / restrictions for both places and come out in-between. I agree that Havalock is too lienent on their rules but this event went way over-board and they were too restrictive.

    Sheldon and Dunn- Fabulous

by weezee62 on 2011-09-01Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

The CMT festival was great. Very organized and we didn't run into any problems whatsover. The bus shuttles from our motel was an added bonus since we didn't have to worry about finding the place and the parking. The line up was great, Blake Sheldon and Ronnie Dunn stole the show...... It was a fantanstic week end and we plan on attending future events.

    Great Show's

by Scaler on 2011-09-01Burl's Creek Park - Oro Station

The performers were great. The Light shows were outof this world. The only thing that could have been better were the Big Screens that they had, if you were sitting in a chair in the field you couldn't see the performer very well and the big screen really wasn't big enough. The sound system was good when the wind wasn't blowing. Would come back for another show. Would bring the kids as they would like the Country singers.
