Being my first time attending, it was a blast. Met so many people and had so much fun. Great music, along the riverfront and great times. I recommend all people to come out next year for this.
I gave this event one star because I wasn't even able to get into the concert. Coming from Canada the tunnel bus was delayed and by the time my group and I got over and walked all the way to the event (so much further than last years venue) it was about 9:45pm. The event said it went until 11pm and Darius Rucker was on stage playing when we arrived, however we were not allowed entry. We were told that everyone needed to be cleared out by 11pm and that no one was allowed to enter now. Such a disappointment- I went the previous year and had a great time. The venue was a great location, tickets were inexpensive and Dierks Bentley wasn't even on until almost 10pm- where as this year tickets were more expensive and we couldn't even get in at 10pm? If they wanted everyone gone by 11pm then they should have put an earlier end time. What a waste of money since not using your ticket doesn't get you a refund.
This event was well organized. there were great freebies. Great opportunity to see great groups up close!
Music was good but bands start playing at 2pm and the best shows don't start until 8, 9, 10pm. With no re-entry and only a handful of vendors on site, you get bored quickly. They have beer and snacks as usual, but only if you're willing to pay an arm and a leg...$10 for a beer, $3 for water, etc. We bought the weekend pass and didnt even end up going on Sunday because we knew we'd just end up bored.
They venue and performers were great! I only have one negative and thats, that I didnt like the stage set up. Performers felt too far away. I prefer last years set up the stage had a "cat walk" and the performers could get closer to us. Even Jake Owens comented how far he felt the fans were and walked out into the crowd to see us. I hope WYCD goes back to the 2012 stage set up, it was much better.... Thank you.
