Casual Fridays with the NAC Orchestra - Vendredis décontractés avec l'Orchestre du CNA Tickets

I liked the atmosphere with bites and drinks available for a longer period before the concert. I liked the relaxed mode. I enjoyed hearing new works that are not in the usual classic catalog. The story telling helped to understand the works. The interviews and hosting really added to the evening. I liked the 7 pm start for the concert. There was also still great atmosphere in the lobby after the concert, where people kept on enjoying the evening. It was my first, but not my last, experience of a casual Friday.

First time I've seen an acoustic guitar become an intrical part of an orchestra. I only wish the guitar sounds had been amplified in some way. We were in row "k" but found that the acoustic guitar was audibly weak. Even standing a microphone in front of the guitar would have brought a fuller sound from the acoustic guitar

The first half of the show was a lullaby from Ana Sokolovic, the composition sounded more like a nightmare...the second half was from the NAC orchestra (Mozart) which was excellent.

Tapas and Jazz before the concert. Two performances. Conductor commentary very nice touch. Interesting host. Great music by Amanda, Jethro and the orchestra. Casual. Early start, early finish. Great entertainment value in a comfortable format and setting.

Amanda and the orchestra as always were superb! However - what's with the "host" I paid to hear music, not to hear a lecture. I was promised 90 minutes of music and the program was indeed 90 minutes however it included 10 to 15 minutes of a host babbling on about what was already printed in the Citizen the previous day or in the program for the evening. This "host" concept will likely be a game ender for my future purchase of tickets should the NACO continue with it. re Casual Fridays - the performance was over so quickly the card excusive exit to the parking lot wouldn't allow me to leave at 8:45pm. Apparently it doesn't activate until 9pm?

It was absolutely wonderful. My sister and I attended. Everyone was very relaxed. You got a free glass of wine. The performance was amazing. I definitely would recommend anybody going to see the NAC Orchestra.
