A Perfect Circle Tickets

It's been 13 years since A Perfect Circle played a headlining tour in Toronto, I remember sitting at the Ricoh Coliseum absolutely amped to hear Maynard and crew tear things up. At this point Thirteenth Step had been recently released and I thoroughly enjoyed that album, so to hear these (at the time) new songs was icing ontop of the hype cake as Mer De Noms was also a fantastic album. As one would imagine, the setlist wrote itself and was it glorious. I still own the ticket stub as a testament to how memorable that night was for a young boy in highschool. Fast forward and not a whole lot has changed, save for an album mostly full of covers, remixes and a few new songs unveiled live. I was again, heading in with high hopes considering the length of time that had passed. Admittedly I was a tad upset that Josh Freese and Jeordie White aren't part of the band anymore, but the replacements are fine musicians nevertheless. A Perfect Circle sounds as good as I remember, they nailed their parts and Maynard's voice still holds up mostly well. He was very playful relative to the many Tool shows I had been witness to. Call it age, an appreciation for the resilient fanbase - whatever, it was nice to see him like that. I enjoyed the setlist although I would have substituted some of the eMOTIVe songs for other Mer De Noms. The messages of war and humanity that the album strived to communicate back at its release date are ever relevant. I suspect that's what the band was going for; a subtle reminder of the state of things. Also, can't say I am a huge fan of the robotic voice in Hourglass but it might grow on me when we get to hear the studio version. As for the no picture, no video policy- can't say I blame the band. I think with their popularity, the fanbase has commodified the music and all sorts of characters attend their shows. Their music, especially in a live setting is meant to be enjoyed and the memories in your heart and mind should be satisfaction enough. That being said, I think ejecting people for not following the rule is a little harsh and just gives security a reason to power trip. Overall, highly recommended- if A Perfect Circle comes to town near you, definitely go see them. They make very moving and impactful music that has stood the test of time.

Nothing could be better than APC live! APC, Tool and Puscifer are the best bands to see for live shows!

I didn't want the show to end. The sound was impecable. The stage design was interesting. I was interested in Maynard speaking to the crowd. I want to hear more from him. The prohibited photographs & video didn't bother me. I understand the message they conveyed. Im glad the audence respected that. I found it ironic that Maynard sang in the shadows. A little comical. Great show.

Great concert the only thing I did not like is I could not take photos of the band.

Maynard and APC are so sensual, yet so dark at the same time. My first time seeing them and I would love to again.

I thought they put on a fantastic show. The lighting was very moody and fit the music perfectly.
