Acis and Galatea Tickets

I have seen many shows opera's and plays over the years, and this was one of the worst. The show is ridiculously overpriced, considering the cheap set design, props and lighting.. The quality of the dancing and singing was awful, coupled with the strange ballet dancing that was the same on every song. We left at intermission.

I thoroughly enjoyed this opera. The orchestra and choir were outstanding. Unlike some of the reviewers, I thought the costumes were perfect. I had some trouble in the first act hearing Galatea. Was it because I sat four rows from the back in the Orchestra under the mezzanine? My only regret is that the opera was not longer.

I enjoyed Opera Atelier's performance yet again, but I not impressed by the slapstick elements, such as, in this case, the cardboard animals galloping across the stage. The slapstick elements of OA performances are not at all charming, & they detract from my full enjoyment of these otherwise beautiful classical gems.

Wonderful choir and orchestra. Enjoyed the dancing, singing, sets and costumes; I found all the male voices strong but was less impressed with Galatea.

Acis and Galatea was presented at the Elgin Theatre that in itself is a wonderful setting for a Handel musical opus. Everything came together that evening to enchant the observer, and delight the eye and ear. The soloists were engaging, the ballet well presented, the staging, the choir and the orchestra presented an evening that will not soon be forgotten. I have already suggested to others that they avail themselves of a wonderful opportunity for an evening's entertainment. We are very fortunate to have Opera Atelier here in Toronto!

This production of "Acis and Galatea" is exquisite. There is not a false note. The dancing is lovely, and the costumes are gorgeous. It is a feast for the senses.
