I have been a fans of hers since the early 90's and I had really been looking forward to the concert for a while and I was not let down. Although her appearance definatly surprised me and many others her voice did wonders. Her and I are both disabled and I really appreciated how she was now able to understand and apperciate my situation and I grealty admire her will to survive anything that comes her way. The show was amazing as well as the band. I would definatly return to see her in concert again anytime. I would love to get an autograph or meet her in person. I love her singing and her music really moves me.
We drove 1500 km just to see Alannah Myles in concert and we were not disappointed. She was straightforward about her physical limitations and though she wasn't feeling well that night, she sang with an amazing voice. Shortly into the concert, Alannah motioned for people to come to the front of the stage where we enjoyed being a part of the atmosphere and excitement. She shook my hand and signed a personal autogragh which meant so much to us. She sang some of our favorite songs, like Sonny Say You Will, Love Is, Lover Of Mine, Black Velvet and it was so wonderful to stand within feet of her and sing along. The whole auditorium sang with her when she sang Black Velvet, and people yelled from their seats, "We love you, Alannah, You're beautiful!" Alannah Myles has such an awesome voice. Her physical condition has not affected her powerful voice and she still 'Rocks' It was a night we will never forget. We love you, Alannah!
Alannah came out and the audience was shocked with her appearance. She went on to explain that she was injured in a car accident where she suffered whiplash and then suffered double whiplash from falling off of her horse a week later. Beyond her appearance- she was cheeky, sharp and sounded amazing!
i thought it coulda been better alanna is realy struggling and looks like she needs a rest and has to eat more the sound was a little off in spots but with the online 2 for 1 it was still a good deal at $30 a ticket cheap night out
what an amazing preformance by alannah and her band. her voice, wow, what a voice. Like she said, it is stonger and better than ever... although her anger may be righteous, she will never completely heal until she forgives... love and light...
alannah miles has one of the finest voices in all of music. To hear her sad story of a beautiful vibrant woman reduced to a shell of the person that she was and to realize she still has a wonderful instrument(her fine voice) to share with the world is simply awe-inspiring. Awesome concert and her band are wonderful fine musicians. Had a great time. When will she return????????? Soon I hope!!! Everyone there had a grand time!!!!!
It was a memorable night at the Rock as Alannah Myles bravely took the stage to show that she still had a voice even though her body was barely able to hold her up. The first sight of her entering the stage was almost unbearable as it looked like she wouldn't even make it to her chair. She spent some time explaining her diminished capacity to the audience and what had gone wrong in her life over the past decade. The concert was sad, shocking but also joyful as she still had the chops to belt out her old standards like "Song Instead of a Kiss" "Rocking Horse" "Love Is" etc. The band was tight and the sound very good until it got a little loud in parts. I was glad I was over 20 rows back because I could still pretend it was the strong vivacious Alannah from the late '80's and not the crippled skeleton perched precariously on her stage stool looking close to falling at any given moment. When she screamed out during the encore that "She Still Got This Thing" you knew the spirit was still alive despite the traumatic setbacks. It was a sad but memorable concert that left me admiring her courage for not giving up as so many would have if were given the cards she was dealt.
She rocks even better than before!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her voice is amazing!!!!!!!!! She should have been promoted a little better.
I have to say this was one of the biggest downer concerts ever. 4 of us walked out as did several other people. Did not know about her injuries but she is not at all entertaining. Voice is great, but she is so emaciated it was just depressing. Looks 80 years old, her hair was a mess and she also came across as a bit of a wing nut. Asking her band members to bring her more "wa wa" (Water) Singing about pigeon poop, telling how her family wanted her committed, her accident, how she made no money. The whole thing appeared to be like a pity fest . 4 of us booked in to the river rock for a fun night out - paid $380.00 for a suite and were ready for a fun concert - after 15 minutes we were all so depressed we had to leave. People around us walked out 5 minutes into it. So not worth it! wE WANT A REFUND ON OUR MONEY
