About

Otherness is the first album in over a decade from the group Rolling Stone declared "put Canadian post-hardcore on the map." Five guys playing aggressive rock grew to a hockey-arena headlining phenomenon while pushing and pulling between spirited guitar leads, melodic might, and emotional weight.

AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Kerrang! counted Crisis (2006) among the 50 Best Albums of the 21st Century, alongside undeniable classics from Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy. After Crisis hit No. 1 in Canada, at a stage where many bands compromise in search of greater success, Alexisonfire doubled down with even heavier riffs on album four, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Released in 2009, it became their highest-charting record in America.

The guys never sacrificed the punk soul summoned in beat-up vans and basement shows. Blending their classic sound with new and forward-thinking textures, they produced Otherness themselves. Jonah Falco of Fucked Up mixed.

As Revolver Magazine noted in 2019: "It's hard to overstate the influence Alexisonfire had in post-hardcore through the mid-2000s, their combination of singing and screaming setting the blueprint for many artists to come."

    Unreal.

Watched AOF along side Avenged sevenfold, And they absolutely killed the performance. One of the most electrifying and passionate performances i have ever attended. Only downside is i wish they played longer! Great show, Great band.

Band was great, mix was meh

by Anon on 2023-06-25Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Great performance, however the mix was so-so. Too much high-end with minimal low-end. Would see AOF and Pup again but would hope for a better mix.

    fake reunion tour

Their 20th "reunion tour" money grab. It is not a reunion tour if it is done every few years.

    They still got it!

by Luke on 2023-06-20Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This was my second time seeing Alexisonfire, and it was just as good as the first. Both events were post-pandemic, so I never got to experience them in their prime, but they still perform a fun, high-energy set.

    Great show!

by MonEEK on 2023-06-20Budweiser Stage - Toronto

One of the best shows I've seen in a while! The plastic cups in the pit need to go though. It's a good idea for safety reasons, but seeing all of the shredded plastic at the end of the show was quite disturbing.

    Great

by Aoffriday on 2023-06-20Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The band was fantastic but the sound was a little muffled. You couldnt hear all the music. Some instruments were louder than others. People smoking weed and cigarettes has ruined the experience as well. Im not a smoker so trying to see the band and enjoy the show with smoke all around you is not pleasant.

    Great band as always!!

by ELaRose on 2023-06-19Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Alexisonfire is great as always! Such great energy - amazing songs! The sound at the beginning of Alexisonfire's set at the Budweiser stage sounded really good, but then it got louder over the show - by the end it was a bit like sound soup. So I wish the sound at the Budweiser stage had stayed as clear and balanced as it was at the beginning of the set - but the band was awesome to see!

by ToRonToH on 2023-06-19Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I’ve seen Alexisonfire 5 times now and they never disappoint. They sound just as good live as they do on their albums and the love they have for their fans is palpable. Amazing show
