Alfie: Great voice, Great Performer
by Martino252525 on 2012-11-03Queen Elizabeth Theatre - TorontoHaving gone on one of the worst nights of the storm here, the room wasn't full. Also, because of the storm, Alfie announced that it would be the last night of the tour due to the weather (he originally had a couple more shows to play in Hamilton, but called them off). However, it didn't stop him from bringing his A-game. He opened the show by bringing out a huge bowl of candy and emptying it on the stage, inviting any kids under ten to go up and take whatever they wanted. His voice and infectious happiness filled the room and was inspired during his now marquee song "Bring Him Home". He sang a couple of originals but covers were what took up most of the night. He covered Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes," and was brilliant through the first half. However, the second half is when he came into his own. Boe is a rocker at heart and the second half was like a rock and roll show. He had everyone stand and dance in the aisles, and was bantering back and forth with the audience. He came into the crowd ran up and down the aisles all while singing incredibly. Him and his musicians riffed and while playing around were making unbelievable music. For the last twenty minutes or so, he pulled up a bunch of people on stage with him as well. All in all, a great show
