    Oh and part two

    by K. S. on 2022-10-11

It was a little odd for the out of town people like my hubby and I to have contactless payment but as we learned that day (as we explored other Toronto must sees) it has become a norm in Toronto to have contactless payment. I kinda forgot they had the time change, but in all fairness the only reason I was updated was because I was staring at my phone all day in case it got cancelled or something, or like the updates we got, there was a time change to the lineup. It definitely seemed a little shorter than I expected though and I think they should have opened the other floors for vendors to help the overflow of people. So for others who weren’t sitting there literally waiting for the doors to open like us, the line up to get in became insane and a lot of people stressed to make it to the show. I saw a number of people come in right at the end of her set which is heartbreaking to see as her show was great. They had only one hour to get everyone coming in, phones headphones fitbits cameras and even sunglasses to be locked up, everyone to possibly do a bathroom trip or line up for food/beer, and get everyone seated so a lot of the show it was hard to see around the people coming in. Legit though, she was amazing and my husband and I would love to see her again but maybe at a different venue next time. The venue really robbed amazing amazing comedians and persons performing that night along with its fans. The venue owes Amy AND the openers!!!

Amazing night but Terrible venue experience

    by K. S. on 2022-10-10

We arrived super early and entered right when the doors opened (hour to first show) and had no issues getting in, had no issues locking up my phone, and the line ups weren’t crazy at the concession stands until it got super busy close to show time. I am a fan of the royal winter fair so I’ve been to the venue yearly and I can say it was sad to see the condition of everything ON ARRIVAL. The bathrooms were probably the grossest ones I’ve seen at the venue, the doors didn’t lock, no toilet paper, and the toilets themselves were so so dirty (again this is at arrival time of as soon as they opened their doors). We then sadly realized only one sink worked out of the three and the only one with soap was the sink furthest away, us women came together like champions and began a rotation so everyone could at least wash up and some of us even held doors closed for those wishing to use the bathrooms privately without having to give a performance. Aside from those issues with the venue, the show was great. I loved loved loved the openers, one I particularly wanted to see so it was a double bucket list night. We loved how relatable Amy was and how she didn’t reuse content much like other performers I’ve seen doing comedy in the past. I know the venue is capable of better service as I’ve been a visitor to the royal winter fair yearly and it was NEVER so bad. I would have given five stars if the venue didn’t basically try and make the experience as rough as it was.

Amy was great. Venue was a mess

    by J. C. on 2022-10-05Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Amy and her openers were great. The venue was a mess. It was the only show during Toronto JFL where we had to put our phones a smart watches in locked pouches, get a hand written chit with our seat number on it, and do full security for a huge venue so it made the show an hour late and slow to empty as we had to wait to unlock our phones. The rest of the JFL shows were incredibly smooth and well run.

    Could have been better

by Eden G on 2022-10-02Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The show itself was good but the show started way later due to the long line and hassle of having to put the phones in the pouch. The venue was very disorganized. As soon as we got in the lines for the concession we’re so long. Bathrooms had no toilet paper and were so dirty. There were so many seats still available during the show that it’s a shame it wasn’t at a smaller venue and hopefully would’ve reduced these headaches before the show starting.

great show, really glad we went!

    by luckyiam79 on 2022-10-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The show was hilarious, probably her funniest set I've seen! Amy definitely stepped it up and brought her A game...my wife and I couldn't have been happier we decided to attend. The only gripe is the venue is a little strict with rules, no phone, cash & contactless payment could be a hassle for some.

Great but short and they take your phone

by Comedy Lover on 2022-09-28Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Love Amy but didn’t love that they take your phone away. Oh and your FitBit. I told them it’s just a step counter and not a recording device but “it’s policy”. Arrived solo and had to just meet friends at the seat since we couldn’t text each other to meet for food/drink prior. Friends said AirPods were confiscated to their “pouch” too. Totally ridiculous. Show was done by 9:05 (less than 2 hrs) - wasn’t the “girls night out” that we hoped for. Opening acts were 15 mins each too - could’ve been longer to stretch it out. Also, show started late because of all the phone collections. Had I known both of the “lockdown” and the short duration of the show I would’ve saved my money, stayed home and watched Amy on Netflix instead. Not worth the time and effort and truly not comfortable having to be made to lock away my phone or not see the show. Can’t we just be an adult and put it in our bags - agree to be kicked out if spotted filming like other shows do?

Very disorganized venue and exaggerated measures

by DH on 2022-09-28Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Entry to the venue was very delayed because of a policy requiring guests to lock up their phones on pouches. Is this really necessary? This was a nuisance and a safety hazard. It didn't help that the venue had no lighting on the rows and no people helping to your seat. You had to rely on the people seating to tell you which row you were on. Also, Amy was a small figure in the stage and spent the whole time looking at screens that were also small and far so I was squinting the whole time. Set material was good

    Disappointed

    by V on 2022-09-27

I’d like to know why we were only notified 3 hours prior to the start of the show that Amy Schumer was going on at 730pm and not 930pm? Clearly super disorganized event and no excuse for it whatsoever. Like many others, we arrived very late (we only found out she was going on early at 730pm) and only caught have the show. Unacceptable.

    Too short and too early

by Les on 2022-09-27Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I attended the show in Toronto. The times we received for the show said opening act at 7, next act at 7:15 and then she was set to come on at 9:30. It seemed odd but that's what it said. I was coming in from out of town and we planned to be there for 9:00, given the information we had. At 7:15pm I check my email by fluke and see that, at 4pm, an email was sent to update the times and she was going on at 7:30. We rushed like crazy to get there and sat down as she went on. Her set was 45 minutes. We were out by 9. People who didn't see the email who planned to skip the openers would have showed up as everyone was leaving. She was funny but her set was far too short and the issue with the timings really ruined our mood before we even sat down. Not a great experience.
