About

ANBERLIN IN CONCERT:

Beloved Christian rock outfit Anberlin announced that their 2014 album and tour would be their last, meaning fans have one last chance to see them in action. The band has been a scene mainstay for more than a decade with their anthemic alt rock sound, topping the Christian Albums Chart four consecutive times with taut albums like 2008's New Surrender and 2012's Vital. The band's final album, 2014's Lowborn, will be accompanied by The Final Tour, a decisively titled last hurrah for the veteran rockers.  Seeing Anberlin on their farewell tour may be bittersweet, but it will also be unforgettable -- the band has promised to pull out all the stops, treating fans to career-spanning sets that will include favorites like "Feel Good Drag" and "Impossible".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Anberlin formed in Florida in 2002 from the ashes of Christian punk outfit SaGoh 24/7, a short-lived project started by singer Stephen Christian and bassist Deon Rexroat during high school. After SaGoh failed to gain traction, the band reemerged with a rock sound and a new moniker, making their debut as Anberlin in 2003 with the album Blueprints for the Black Market. Although the release failed to chart, it spawned the popular single "Readyfuels" and led to extensive touring. The band's 2005 sophomore album fared better, landing at No. 5 on the Christian chart and No. 3 on the Heatseekers chart. Their success continued in 2007 with the album Cities, which earned them a major label deal with Universal. Their debut on the imprint -- 2008's New Surrender -- peaked at No. 1 on the Christian chart, a feat the band would repeat with their next three albums including their final album, 2014's Lowborn. Accompanying Lowborn is the bands farewell gesture to fans, a rollicking set of dates on The Final Tour that provides ticket buyers with one last opportunity to see Anberlin before they call it quits for good.

Thank you so much for playing this show guys! It was truly the best night of my life. I’ve never had so much fun. It was so great meeting you all again, and you put on such a great show. It was so obvious that you were having so much fun up there and the energy was infectious! Thank you thank you thank you.

Anberlin once again put on an amazing show! Their opening acts were great and was so impressed. The small venue made it personal, and memorable.

Skip Anberlin but checkout Paper Route

Mediocre stage presence combined with high pitched preaching vocals.

Usually great, but this time not very good

by Kaap on 2013-05-05Venue - Vancouver

We are huge, avid fans of Anberlin and always go to see them when in town. What a disappointment this time at the Venue. Don't know if it was the sound guys or the actual place itself, but the sound was really muddled and disjointed. Also, played most songs from their new CD, Vital, which is to be expected, but did very little of their other material and did a very short set with no encore (and with no fans requesting one either). Maybe they were all glad that it was the last date of their tour and just wanted to get out of there. The back-up group,Paper Route, was much, much better. Come on Anberlin - give your loyal fans a show we know you're capable of giving!!!

Anberlin's stage presence is life changing

by Poulin on 2013-05-01Venue - Vancouver

anberlin's performance skills are insane. everything is so perfect, and I really can't complain at all, as they are perfect. the Venue that they played at though, was the worst sounding place I've ever gone to, and I've been to 45 concerts in 4 years... so I know what I'm talking bout. haha I could barely hear Stephen's beautiful singing voice, but when I could, it was incredible. they are truly amazing, and everyone should go to a show.

Anberlin - Usually Good, this time Awful

by VanStu on 2013-05-01Venue - Vancouver

I am a big Anberlin fan, which is why I was so disappointed with their performance at this show. I'm not sure if it was the sound guys screwing up some of the levels (as someone on Facebook suggested) or the fact that the lead singer's voice was messed up at the end of the tour. Either way, the sound quality and the tonality were all screwed up during Anberlin's set. And they only did a one song encore! Come on guys! On the other hand, Paper Route were pretty good. I'd never heard them before and they were kind of Killers-esque. I'd probably see them again but I'm not sure if I'll go to the next Anberlin show when they're in town.

    Anberlin Acoustic Tour

by christiancutie on 2012-06-22The Music Hall - LONDON

These guys are amazing! Loved the acoustic feel to the night, the fellas were dressed well and played their hearts out. Loved all of it. Really surprising was the opening band Monsters Calling Home - epic. in one word, they have a wonderful style, great sense of humor and performed so well. The whole show was awesome.

by Kojach on 2012-02-12Kool Haus - Toronto

Saw Anberlin open for 30 Seconds to Mars at Kool Haus in Toronto. Absolutely loved the tunes, and listening to their albums I can't wait to grab tickets to their next event. Try listening to: Art of War, Impossible, Feel Good Drag, Readyfuels, The Undeveloped Story
