    Kick ass time

by Curt on 2022-08-29Théâtre Corona - Montreal

All 3 bands were amazing. I flew across the country to see Municipal Waste and they did not disappoint. I joined my first mosh pit at age 40! Enforced was also everything I expected. I’ve never really listened to At The Gates, but they put on a killer show. I will definitely check them out again!

    Great lineup

by BlackDuck on 2015-04-03Venue - Vancouver

Decibel tour always has pretty awesome lineups and this one was no exception. From the first band to the last, it was all killer bands. Total fail that the event was moved to the Venue instead of staying at the Commodore. It was crammed in there. Venue is my least favorite venue for metal shows in town.

    Opening acts stole the show!

    by convegan123456 on 2015-04-02Venue - Vancouver

The lineup for this unbelievable event was: Auroch, Vallenfyre, Pallbearer, Converge, and At the Gates. I think Auroch was a no show; I came late myself but I don't think they were there which is a bummer because they're a great band. So, Vallenfyre opened at 8:30 with a crushing half-hour set. These guys are heavy! I was in the balcony so the guitars were not as audible as the drums, bass, and vocals. This seemed to be a persistent problem during the night. I don't know if that's something to do with the acoustics of the Venue but overall Vallenfyre crushed it. Pallbearer came out next and set up their rigs in like 5 minutes - quickest setup I've ever seen in my life! They mellowed the show out a bit with slow, bludgeoning riffs and beautiful guitar and vocal melodies. The bass was extremely heavy! Pallbearer played only 3 or 4 songs (all of them from Foundations of Burden - terrific album) due to the sheer length of their songs, but it was a smashing show. Next Converge destroyed the venue with a devastating 45 minute set. These guys are pure chaos. I loved my Converge T-shirt too! Converge played some steadfast favorites from Axe to Fall and Jane Doe, as well as new songs from All We Love We Leave Behind. Yes there was some crowdsurfing, plenty of moshing. Converge was by far the highlight of the night. I'm not a fan of At the Gates (sorry!) so I can't comment on their music, but they had the most elaborate set of all the bands. They played for over an hour. The whole show went from 830pm to 1245 am and for about $40 a ticket that is an unbeatable deal. The assortment of bands on this tour was just the right mix too. You had death metal in Vallenfyre, doom masters in Pallbearer, the kings of chaos in Converge, and one of the forefathers of MDM in At the Gates. There's something for everyone, and for me, I was like a kid in a candystore. Phenomenal! One last note, I think the Venue is far superior to the Commodore Ballroom in terms of its overall layout. Also, they allow for re-entry, and Commodore does not. In any case, many thanks to the Venue for the 11th hour save to host this amazing show.
