About

BARRY GIBB IN CONCERT:

As a founding member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb is responsible for some of the most beloved and iconic songs of the 20th century, sharing a songwriting record with none other than John Lennon and Paul McCartney for having six consecutive No. 1's  on the Billboard Hot 100. Gibb's distinctive R&B falsetto — virtually synonymous with the '70s — is as impressive today as it was 40 years ago, eliciting collective swoons from fans during performances of disco hits like "Night Fever" and "How Deep Is Your Love" at his 2013 concerts. Gibbs may be the only surviving Bee Gee, but he more than holds his own as a solo performer, carrying on the band's legacy with another eagerly awaited string of concerts on the Mythology Tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born on the Isle of Man in Britain, brother's Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibbs founded the Bee Gees after their family relocated to Australia in 1958. Featuring intricate vocal harmonies, the band's early sound closely resembled the '60s-era rock popularized by the Beatles, earning them a string of international hits in the swinging decade including "To Love Somebody" and "Massachusetts." It was the band's turn to disco in the mid-'70s, however, that brought them their biggest success — their contributions to the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack propelled the album to No. 1 in the UK and US, ringing in the heyday of disco and landing them an impressive five simultaneous Top 10 singles in the US — a chart dominance that hadn't been seen since the Beatles' mid-'60s run.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The Barry Gibb solo concert was awesome. I think he did a fantastic job on his own without his fellow Bee Gees... Barry can do a show solo and deliver. It was very enjoyable, he sounds great, and can still hit those high notes."

"Barry looked and sounded TERRIFIC! He hasn't changed a bit. His voice sounded better in concert than any record I could remember. The song list was beautiful, and I really enjoyed some of his earlier recordings."

"Wow — we were blown away by how amazing the voice of Barry continues to be. He really touched our hearts with his reaction to the crowd. Rarely do you see an entertainer display such humility while performing, but Barry was the exception."

What a show. Barry and his band put on a magical night for the audience. He covers a wide-variety of his music, including songs written for other artists and pays tribute to all his brothers and his wife. He is such an amazing artist. I am so glad I was able to experience Barry Gibb live. His talent and voice is unmatched.

BARRY GIBB at TD GARDEN BOSTON!!!

by MonctonNB on 2014-05-21TD Garden Boston - Boston

My husband and I traveled from Moncton, New Brunswick to see this concert. We have been to several concerts in our lives and this one was in our top 5. The concert was "MAGIC". From start to finish it was nothing short of fantastic. Barry was on stage for 2.5 hours. He hit all the notes and the amazing falsetto he is known for is still going strong. When he sang New York Mining Disaster and the crowd gave a 10 minute standing ovation...you could feel the emotion in the crowd and in Barry. How humble and sweet this amazing artist is. To see him get teary-eyed and appreciate his fans that way made us cheer even louder. The band was incredible. His niece and son were on top of their game as well as the back up singers. The duets with Ms. Cohen were second to none. I applaud you Barry for giving us all the opportunity to share in an evening with you...the living legend. You are a true star. I would travel the distance again in a heartbeat to see you perform. Please consider your Canadian fan base on the next tour around. We love you in Canada and would be honored to host you.

Barry Gibb - Simply the best

by ohmygod on 2014-05-20Wells Fargo Center - Philadelphia

It was always a dream of mine to see the Bee Gees someday. Seeing Barry Gibb was thrilling for me. We travelled from Ottawa, Canada to Philadelphia for the May 19th concert. I will never forget that show. I still can't believe that I was there. His voice is as great as ever. He is very humble and you can tell that he really loves to entertain, as much as we love being entertained by him. The Bee Gees will always hold a special place in my heart.

    Just the Best Ever!

by darged on 2014-05-18TD Garden - Boston

Emotional , moving, wonderful, this concert was so many things to so many. To me, it was the music of my favorite Band, Barrie leading as always. His voice is the same, it never fails to impress, it is as distinctive, and perfect as I remember back when I use to sing along with him, .This music came at a wonderful time in life ,the 70's, music was so exciting, I cant imagine the power within Barrie to be able to pull this tour off for his fans that love him and his brothers. I hope he felt the love for them all in Boston, and I hope he knew their were fans from Canada there that love him dearly. I believe the Bee Gees are the best, they have written , produced, their own music as well as many others. In my opinion, they never got the credit they deserved, They are the best.
