    So Nice

by Todd Muise on 2023-09-10Algonquin Commons Theatre - Nepean

Great experience and performance. Sound was inconsistent and levels were off on some songs. Artist of this caliber and experience deserves a better sound team. We still enjoyed every minute of Bebel's show.

    Worthwhile to see and hear!

by Ern on 2023-09-10Algonquin Commons Theatre - Nepean

Bel Gilberto is the real deal. She is delightful and she gave a truly excellent performance. She might not have been feeling 100% but that didn’t stop her from delivering a first rate show. Her side musicians, guitar and percussion are definitely well experienced with this style of music.db

    Incredible experience

by Kareem on 2022-07-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

So much personality in her performance. She played some of her dad's classics, and her own masterpieces. Really engaging with the audience.

    Bebel at the Danforth

by Mayrienne on 2022-07-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I love her voice so much and Bebel’s voice live is even more enchanting. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance, song selection as well as her very talented and brilliant guitarist. I must say though that her adorable dog Ella stole the show. I did get that on film and will post on Twitter. I look forward to seeing Bebel (& Ella) again.

    Unprofessional

by James on 2022-07-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Don’t get me wrong Bebel has a beautiful voice but she seemed like she was drunk or high on something. She could barely stand up straight and forgot the lyrics frequently to entire songs. Less than impressed by a seeming improv performance. The opening act was fantastic and would’ve been a better headliner.

My pet peeve with concerts always is the time they say on the ticket or website or whatever is not accurate. At the time of booking it said show is from 7 to 9:30. Nothing happens at 7 except you can go in and then sit for an hour and someone comes in at 8 to perform for 45 mins and then we wait and its past 9 and no sign of the main performer who then comes in a few mins late, by now its past 9. Show goes on an hour and at the first encore we left. Why can't you stick to the time? Before anyone says this is how shows/concerts are, does not make it right. My time is important.

Mediocre show. Start time was wrong: Ticketmaster advised start time 7pm, yet the venue said that the doors open at 7pm but the show started at 8pm. The perforemer was 20 minutes late too. The hall was very cold, the performer had a hard time to warm up. The first few songs were laud and off... only in mid' show she warmed up and had a good performance... few songs. She engaged nicely with the audience, a lot in Portuguese... less in English. The venue was on the Danforth, a few steps away from the location where the tragic events took place 2 days before.... massive shooting that had the entire city shaken up. No word was mentioned... We even wondered if she had a clue about what was going on. The hall is dingy, floors look dingy wet, ceiling cracked with stains and damages previous flooding... Bebel Gilberto has a beautiful voice, i like her music and style, i was looking forward to this evening... she left the impression of a self absorbed artist who makes nice to do good on tour, for financial reasons... i'm sad it turned out this way. i'm not Brazilian, i went to the show not motivated by "home nostalgia", but by sheer love of the music. I spoke highly about the artist and brought friends along convincing them it will be a very nice experience.... it was silence when the show was over.... this speaks volumes... sorry Bebel - i hope at least you were able to get your money's worth.... but this performance wouldn't even work in a pub...

    Bebel Gilberto- Danforth Music Hall

by TheSixConcert on 2018-07-27Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Bebel is definitely an entertainer. Her and her guitarist played a shortish set (around 1h and 15 minutes) to a full house of fans. Speaking in both Portuguese and English she charmed and amused with many of her big hits and some of her new material. Unfortunately the percussive latin sounds that are the hallmark of much of her music were notably absent despite her valiant attempts at using her voice to fill them in. it would have been a much better set if she had added a couple of percussionists to her set. Even if she had recruited some local talent to assist her, it would have made a dramatic difference to her set. Overall, it was entertaining, but fell a bit short. She did get the crowd singing through most of her big hits though and that was fun, which is ultimately what we all wanted!

    Bebel was a gem

by SlayerBC on 2018-07-27The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Stopped down with just her voice - and humour - and an acoustic guitar player, this show was outstanding. Even more so if you speak/understand Portuguese. Such a talent!
