About

Scotland's Biffy Clyro have been making anthemic arena rock together for more than 20 years. Comprising Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals), Biffy Clyro have entertained fans the world over with their winning combination of grunge, pop and progressive rock.

Originally formed in the late '90s in Glasgow, Biffy Clyro began as a club band, largely influenced by pop-rock forbearers Weezer. After growing a local following, the trio released their first EP, 2000's Thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow. Their first single, "27," was released not long after, and in 2002, they released their studio debut album, Blackened Sky.

In 2003, the band shared a follow-up effort, The Vertigo of Bliss, and toured aggressively to build momentum. In 2004, Biffy Clyro released their third album, Infinity Land, and three years later, they shared the single "Saturday Superhouse" and news of a fourth album: Puzzle.

In 2009, Biffy Clyro released their fifth studio album, Only Revolutions, which featured singles like "Mountains," "Bubbles" and "Many of Horror." Only Revolutions went platinum in 2010 and even earned the band a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination.

In 2012, Biffy Clyro announced their sixth studio album, Opposites, which was released in 2013 and featured the single "Black Chandelier." Opposites debuted at the top of the charts, marking their first-ever No. 1 on the Official UK Album Chart. That year, the trio embarked on their second-ever world tour.

In 2016, Biffy Clyro returned with their seventh studio album, Ellipsis, which they recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rich Costey. The album featured the singles "Wolves if Winter" and "Animal Style." To promote the album, Biffy Clyro headlined a number of major festivals, including the Reading and Leeds Festivalsl in 2016 and the Download Festival in 2017. That same year also saw the release of Biffy Clyro's unplugged live album recorded at London's Roundhouse.

In 2019, the band branched out somewhat by soundtracking Jamie Adams' film Balance, Not Symmetry. The following year, Biffy Clyro released a new full-length, A Celebration of Endings, which was also produced by Costey. They circled back one year later with a companion album, The Myth of Happily Ever After. Catch Biffy Clyro on tour when they hit a city near you.

    Awesome!

by Kee on 2022-04-30History - Toronto

Biffy Clyro have been my favourite band for the past 7 years now. This was my first time seeing them live and the show was just as I expected and more. They sounded amazing!!! I love the energy that they put into performing their songs!!! The setlist could've been better but I understand that they have lots of bangers and fitting all their great songs to a one and a half hour setlist must be a difficult thing to do. MON THE BIFF!

    The absolute best

by Elaine on 2022-04-27History - Toronto

Been going to Biffy Clyro concerts for more than 15years. My favourite band! I love the energy they bring to their live shows. The music from their 2 latest albums was spectacular live. Biffy Clyro concerts will always be the best of any live shows I see. No one can top them. I just wish they’d come more frequently! We are so lucky to see them in more intimate venues here. Still buzzing and can’t wait til they return.

    Incredible

by Dan on 2022-04-26History - Toronto

This is my first time seeing Biffy Clyro. They were absolutely amazing! The sound was perfect and the crowd was so into it. I had never been to this venue before, and it was a delight. Such a nice room and set up with plenty of parking. I am still on a high from this show.

It was my first time at History and my 4th time seeing Biffy. What a fantastic venue with excellent and attentive staff. Kudos especially to our server Christine for taking such excellent care of us all night. The bands were superb as well.

Biffy Clyro + Small Venue = Awesome

by Roanna on 2013-10-12The Opera House - Toronto

Second time seeing Biffy Clyro - the first was when they opened for Muse earlier this year. Seeing them in a small venue was AWESOME! They put on such an energetic show, the crowd was totally into it, it really was a great show!

    Magical!

by Biffyfan on 2013-10-09The Opera House - Toronto

This was my 4th Biffy Clyro concert. I too made the trip from Montreal and I'd do it again tomorrow. I feel so lucky to have seen Biffy Clyro here, in small venues. I fear it won't be long before they are selling out arenas so I will enjoy it as long as I can. The show was everything I expected and more. The crowd was crazy and fun! Much more energized than all of the previous shows I'd seen in Montreal,Toronto and NY. Perhaps this is due to a younger following (from their Muse opening slot?) Either way, everyone in the room seemed to know ALL of the music and the band seemed to feed off of it and genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves. The music speaks for itself. Their passion is evident in their stage performances. I can't get enough of Biffy Clyro. Already saving for the next time they come to the North East!

    Mon The Biff

by DoomCrew on 2013-10-07The Opera House - Toronto

Best show ever. Initially I was upset that Biffy didn't reschedule a Montreal date after bailing from the opening slot for Muse last summer. I made a weekend in Toronto out if this show and it was unforgettable. Great setlist, amazing energy, great performance. Toronto crowds are tame compared to Montreal concert goers... Maybe next time they'll pay MTL a visit.
