    Big River

by Chickachelle on 2013-11-11Century Casino - Edmonton

With all the songs that could have been chosen for this concert, i was disappointed that i had not heard some of them before. Seriously?! Also, I think the band needs a female voice added, so that "Jackson", "Hit the Road Jack" could be added and "It aint me Babe" could be done properly.

He Sounds Almost like Johnny Cash

by jilllynn5555 on 2012-07-16Century Casino Calgary - Calgary

James did a superb great job covering Johnny Cash's songs! He sounded just like the real thing (based on what I've heard from Johnny Cash's CDs). He dresses all in black, he tells the audience a bunch of Johnny Cash facts, he walks around in the audience and even holds his guitar the way Johnny does! Really well done! The venue was a bit thrown together and I hope next time they actually take our tickets and give us some sort of assigned seating!

Big river was like listening to Johnny Cash himsel

by DavidJamesFan on 2012-03-29Century Casino - Edmonton

We had a great time. Lead singer sounded just like Johnny Cash. He was full of energy and belted out tune after tune. Loved the venue too. More personal. Loved that there was a dance floor too. You will not be disappointed.

    Very authentic

    by aschultz0ca on 2010-10-31Century Casino - Edmonton

Johnny Cash was a bit before my time, but having heard many of his records, the sound of this band was pretty authentic and they tried very hard to give the audience what they wanted -- a heartfelt tribute to a music legend. Based on the reaction of other audience members, I'd say that the effort was a great success. In some ways, the songs were even better than Johnny performed them... not that the performance was superior, but they didn't have those cheesy "doo-wap" production values that were popular in the 60's and 70's.
