Billy Elliot was disappointing.

I was fortunate in knowing the lyrics and dialogue, but my friend, who attended the show with me, could not understand any of the group songs, and a great deal of the children's spoken parts., I think mostly because they were trying so hard to speak with the accent, the words were lost. Not sure what the other Billy's were like, but the one on Sat. Sept 29, 8 pm show, had to strain in order to sing his part. His tap was good, ballet fair. The dance teacher , Billy's brother and grandma spoke and sang very clear. Billy's dad was weak. I have seen three different interpretations of Michael, and I enjoyed this one, as he did not try upstage Billy, and the "pouff" factor was not over-done.
