the male leads were exceptional - the jumps reached amazing height. unfortunately, two corps ballerinas fell during the performance...most unfortunate!

The play was excellent.. 3 mistakes 1. Main dancer lost his footing when landing 2. Female dancer launched a rose to the black swan and he failed to catch it; and 3. 1 of the female dancer fell when floor was crowded w/dancers wearing white tootoos I still think the performance was very passionate. Usually the black swan and the white swan are performed by different ballerinas. In the Toronto debute, the black swan and the white swan are performed by the same ballerina. This is unusual and more difficult as the two roles are quite contrastic. However, from the brochure introduciton I understand that the top ballerinas from Russia in Bolshoi did not come. I hope that I can see them next time.

The appearance on tour of this great company is an exciting event. They brought exciting principal dancers for the leading parts in many virtuoso moments. The corps de ballet was disciplined and beautiful. It was a version of Swan Lake unknown in the West and quite intriguing for admirers of this major classic. The staging was overall impressive.

This was the most beautiful performance I have ever seen. It was a visual feast. The male dancers seemed to just float in the air, and land as softly as a feather. I was so moved by the beauty and the story that I wept through the entire first act. I did not want this event to end.
