About

R&B singer, songwriter and producer Brian McKnight released his 13th studio album, More Than Words, in 2013, and he followed it up with a theater tour that had fans grabbing tickets for concerts throughout the US. The Buffalo, NY native, who began singing in a church choir, has been a mainstay on the urban contemporary scene since he released his self-titled debut album in 1992, at the tender age of 19. His arresting falsetto and smooth style were an immediate hit with R&B and pop listeners, who made "One Last Cry" the singer's first Top 20 single. McKnight's best-known songs followed in the '90s, including "Love Is" (a duet with Vanessa Williams), "Back at One," and "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" featuring Mase. Though he hasn't yet taken home a trophy, McKnight -- who can play nine musical instruments -- has earned 16 Grammy nominations over the course of his career. He's also sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

    Bmac... awesome

by Anonymous on 2015-02-17Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Concert was awesome, venue was just okay. At a casino so it was very crowded, parking was almost non-existent because of the weekend casino traffic and of course the event. But...the concert was great!

    Awesome Brian McKnight

by eWorks on 2013-08-06Casino Rama - Rama

Brian as usual is amazing. This is my 4th time watching him. He put on a show you are guaranteed to love and wish for more. The show started on time when I say on time he came on at 9pm on the dot. He always puts a good show and makes it very intimate you almost want to get up and slow dance. He threw in a few jokes here and there and had an amazing tribute to people who have passed or gone too soon. That was a really nice touch. His band was on point and sounded amazing. His Bassist(Chris Loftlin) is a show on top of the B. McKnight show. I'm glad Brian and Chris have stayed together since the 1st time I saw them. Music was good and even when the songs that were modified from what they sound like on CD they were still as good.

    Brian McKnight's still got it

by Tendy on 2013-07-30Casino Rama - Rama

The night was amazing. He looked great, sang so well. No opening act. He sang most songs from his new album More than Words as well as many fav oldies. The set was 1hr 30 mins only which was a downer but guess what?. He set up afterwards for a meet n greet with the fans. In order to take a picture with him or meet him you needed to buy some merchandise that he would autograph. That was okay except that the CDs were $35!! All in all you don't always get to meet the artist up close and personal so i give this a 5 stars for sure.

Been a fan of Brian since the early 90s. This is the 2nd time I've watched him LIVE and it just keeps getting better. My wife and I had a wonderful evening. Needless to say, watching from the front-row made our experience even more unforgettable. Can't wait for the next one !

I have always thought that Brian McKnight was an awesome artist, but seeing him in person was a "dream come true". He interacted with the audience as if we were old friends, he was funny, he was playful and he was hot!!! My boyfriend and I went to the concert and Brian made me fall in love with him all over again! The venue was great, good seats throughout and the acoustics were perfect. Definitely a perfect night out.

After seeing Brian in concert for the 3rd time I was reminded why he is one of my favorite artists. As usual his vocals were spectacular and here ached into his vast catalogue of classic ballads which made my wife very happy. Brian definitely did not disappoint!!

Although I live in Toronto and artists like this almost never come out this way, I was thrilled to see Brian McKnight live! He is a great and inspiring singer, and a magnetic personality with mad keyboarding skills. Very glad that I went.

    Brian McKnight Is a GOD!!!

    by Mr1131988 on 2011-02-26Sound Academy - Toronto

No superlatives can do justice to describe the experience I felt from the moment Brian McKnight entered the club to the very moment he stepped out. After two hours had gone by so quickly, I asked myself, "Just how did the fella pull off a legendary show with only a guitar and a piano?" I wonder how many hours he kept us fans waiting. Hmmm... three hours I guess. During the first hour, we were treated to some of the sickest old-school R&B and Soul classics. You never realize what you have until its gone because todays music is GARBAGE! As if the morning wasnt enough, we had to witness some upcoming talents in the form of the opening acts while Brian McKnight being the perfectionist he is was in the back rehearsing. Comedian Jay Martin was more than a sufficient host and amidst all the laughter shared most of us old school fans sentiments about how we miss good old R&B. The pre-show performers except for one, were talented especially Kim Davis who crooned the best love songs in quite a while and the most danceable reggae tunes. The one opening act I really hated and got on my nerves was that stupid third rate boy band called Frequency. How on earth did an icon like Brian McKnight give an opportunity to such unworthy pretty boys with no talent! I definitley felt as though youre performaces took longer than the entire Brian McKnight portion which I paid to see. To think that I am not one of those who lambast boybands because I do believe that there are some with talent. New Kids on the Block might as well should have co-headlined this Valentines special with the man himself, B. McKNight! Upon leaving the Sound Academy, having gotten over my jitters, the answers were all in my head. He's God dressed up as Brian McKnight. This is what the good Lord would sound like if he were an R&B singer. Don't get me wrong. I have been to other concerts before so I do have a basis for comparison. Last November I thought I had witnessed the perfect concert when my lifelong dream of seeing Usher live was fulfilled and if that weren't enough, he brought one of the very few talented R&B singers this musically deprived generation has in Trey Songz along with another promising act named Khalil (only 16 years old). But with all the great vocals, amazing choreography and fancy fireworks in the massive Air Canada Centre, I realized Usher's concert wasn't even half the experience I had watching Brian McKnight. I was amazed that a small intimate concert heavily trumped a show held in probably Toronto's biggest musical arena. I was always into smaller venues anyway but to say that a show in the Sound Academy was more epic than one in Air Canada Centre was something I never thought would cross my mind. After seeing Mr. B McKnight live, you realize it's not because he has sold 20 million records worldwide that you get chills up your spine. It's not because he is an icon with a reputation for his timeless love songs and baby-making music along with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass or Keith Sweat nor the countless awards won. It's simply because he's a genius and a true blue musician. He is well-educated and is a master of his craft not to mention he can play 12 instruments. He has had such a unique blend of musical influences in Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker and Michael Jackson that all his years as a youngster trying to emulate him have resulted in him crafting one of the most prolific careers in music. So prolific that the entire show was basically a summary of his entire life story told in the form of the music he grew up loving to the music he ended up making. Who knew that the first piece Brian learned to play on the piano was Gonna Fly Now from the classic film Rocky? And who thought he could possibly have such a great sense of humor underneath all his songs about heartbreak and love-making? But thats Brian McKnight for you, always one to surprise his fans yet always leaving something to be desired and in the process preserving his mystique. No wonder, even after more than 20 years in the business, he is still considered one of the dreamiest men in the world of R&B.
