The ad for the event, and the reason we bought tickets, showed Gord Bamford and Samantha King would be playing/singing. When we got there we sat through 3 other bands (one local band that was so loud that we couldn't sit and listen...we couldn't understand any of the words the singer was singing anyway due to the volume). At 10pm we finally went to ask when Gord Bamford would be on stage and were told he wouldn't be up until 1:10am! Not prepared to stay that long we left. It was a total waste of time and money!

    CCMA Rockin Country

by Bren on 2013-09-09Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

I was a little disappointed in this event. Mainly because it took so long between acts to get the bands set up and then the artist only played 4 songs. The music video's were a good distraction while the bands were changing sets but they played some of the same videos two and three times over.

Too much rock not enough country

by ChunkGen on 2012-09-09Prairieland Park - Saskatoon

For me the next day at fan fare was a whole lot more enjoyable. I loved it!!! Iit was just the singer and his or her instrument and u could actually hear the voices and enjoy the songs. It was also a lot more Country than the nite before. It was really nice hearing the story behind the song. The cabarat was ok but too much rock for me. It didn't sound like country to me. But then I'm 62 so my likes are different I guess. I love to dance. Ur there were just too many drunks bumping into you, running into and over you that it wasn't enjoyable! Fan fare the next day was exellent!!!!
