About

Iron Maiden are one of the most formative bands to establish the heavy metal genre in the ’80s. Formed in 1975 in East London, the band underwent several personnel changes before releasing their self-titled debut in 1980. Iron Maiden’s sophomore effort, 1981’s Killers, was the first to chart in the U.S. and marked the final release with lead singer Paul Di'Anno. With the installment of frontman Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden released their breakthrough 1982 album, The Number of the Beast, which reached platinum certification, introduced two staples to the band’s catalog with the title track and “Run to the Hills” and kicked off a 10-year run of releases to land in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200, including their 1983 follow-up Piece of Mind and 1986’s Somewhere in Time. Dickinson departed in 1993, but returned in 1999 to cement the current lineup with bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris; guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers; and drummer Nicko McBrain, along with the band’s long-standing mascot “Eddie,” whose skeletal figure has graced the cover of nearly every release and become a signature of their live performances. Iron Maiden reached a new level of mainstream success in the ’10s, winning their first Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category for their 2010 single “El Dorado,” while 2010’s The Final Frontier and 2015’s The Book of Souls both earned No. 4 placements on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting albums at the time.

    Maiden Vancouver

by UpTheIrons on 2023-10-09Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Iron Maiden always put on a good show and this one was excellent as well. Bruce's vocals were much better than in 2019's tour and the rest of the band sounded tight. My only complaint was the set list. I'm not used to seeing Maiden without The Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills and Hallowed be Thy Name, but I understand why they switched it up. the Prisoner was a great surprise. Overall this was a fantastic show and I can't wait until they come back!

    Awesome Show

by Church on 2023-10-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Maiden were awesome as usual. The only downfall was the bullshit charges that Ticketmaster added to the cost of the ticket. Greedy fucking pricks.

    Great show!

by ArgoDave on 2023-10-07Rogers Place - Edmonton

Maiden put on their usual high energy show, sound was loud but clean. Would have liked a few more classic songs, odd to be at a IM show and not hear Aces High, Number of the Beast, Powerslave, etc. Somewhere in Time is a great album to feature, enjoyed hearing some cuts off that. Great show all around, hope they pass through Edmonton again.

    Typical Iron Maiden

by Horton on 2023-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I enjoyed the concert, typical tour to support the latest album and "Somewhere In Time". I enjoyed the setlist, but if you only know their hits, you may be disappointed. Venue was great, buying merch. through VANBASE.ca is the way to go... crowd seemed into it and good tempered.

For me it’s rare to see them. Especially in Canada. Haven’t listened to much new stuff recently. But overall the experience was amazing.

    Absolutely MIND BLOWING

    by SMASHtheCAN7410 on 2023-10-05Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Found a perfect seat at the back bowl as well as being being able to perfectly see the stage without any issues. The fact posters were only 15$ is awesome so I bought both (most concerts only sell one). I couldn’t be more happy with my experience

Excellent performance mired by minor technical details

by TheTome on 2023-10-05Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Iron Maiden put on a fantastic show! However, for a large part of the show the guitar sounds were peaking, becoming slightly muddled, or introducing unintentional sound distortion that was awkward and a bit painful to listen to. I noticed this both with and without earplugs in, so it was definitely a sound setup issue. Thankfully, for the encore someone adjusted the sound slightly and the guitars were crisp and clear! While I enjoyed the entire show, the encore was the sound I was expecting the whole time.

After a long wait, the mighty Maiden returned with a set list that had me singing every word to every song all night long (ok the first song after the encore I didn’t know, but I do now haha) so Blessed to see them again! I’ve See almost every show since 1986 ! Glad to bring the next generation with me to see them in their glory
