Montreal Canadiens History
With an NHL-record 24 Stanley Cup Championships, eight conference championships, 24 division titles, and a Hall of Fame contingent of more than 50 players and more than a dozen coaches and executives, the Canadiens have an unrivaled pedigree.
The team, founded in 1909 as part of the National Hockey Association (forebear to the NHL), won its first Stanley Cup Championship in 1916. Behind legendary center Howie Morenz, Montreal added championships in 1924, 1930 and 1931. The latter two titles came at the Montreal Forum, the arena they would call home for 70 years. In 1942 the league was reduced to six teams; the Candiens were selected as one of the remaining teams to form the "Original Six" and the foundation of the league we know today.
With eventual Hall of Fame right wing Maurice ("Rocket") Richard anchoring the "Punch Line" with Elmer Lach and Toe Blake, the Canadiens won a Stanley Cup Championship in 1944 and '46. Blake would return as head coach in the next decade, piloting them to five consecutive Stanley Cup Championships between 1956 and 1960. The Canadiens won four more Stanley Cup Championships in the 1960s (three under Blake).
Sparked by future Hall of Famers such as Guy Lafleur, Ken Dryden and Larry Robinson, the Habs earned six Stanley Cup Championships in the 1970s -- five with Scotty Bowman at the helm. Bowman would go on to become the winningest coach in NHL history.
The Canadiens won six division championships and three conference titles and made the Playoffs every year in the 1980s, adding one Stanley Cup Championship to their resumé when they defeated the Calgary Flames to close out the 1985-1986 season behind the goaltending of rookie Patrick Roy. They returned to the Finals in 1993, again behind Roy, to beat the Los Angeles Kings.

Since 1996, the Montreal Canadiens have played their home games at the Bell Centre, originally known as the Molson Centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Bell Centre has a capacity of 21,105 for hockey games, making it the largest ice hockey arena in the world.
Very bad game opener, we have great production company here like moment factory, we should gave them a call to ask them their expertise on how to do great season opener pre-show and rethink the so use now games intro. They should look at what the other spectular and succesful team like Vegas are doing. We have the Quebeçois expertise here and we are not using them
I remember intermissions used to be about hockey. Now it’s a rave party! Bring back timbits.
Very exciting game even though the Habs lost. 3-1 against the Leafs.

This was my wifes first NHL game and she really enjoyed it. The only thing that could of made it better is if Montreal won. Getting in and out of the Bell Center was a breeze even with the large crowd. We're already planning to do this again next year.
Purchased ticket for my 75 year old father for Christmas. It was on his bucket list ! Had a wonderful experience and made great memories to remember !!
A great time at the Habs game. We decided to use Via Rail instead of drive so the only downer is that it was impossible for me to get my prepaid parking back or even be able to have someone else benefit from it.
We had a great time at the Habs game on March 25th. They played an amazing game which was awesome as we drove 7 hours to come see it. We were not the happiest with our meal at the restaurant in the Bell Centre (Canti). My steak was not great. It had grizzle/fat and was not cooked the best for the price it was. But overall we were happy with the overall experience.
It has always been my dream to see the Montréal Canadiens play at the Bell Centre. We finally got the chance to see them play on March 25th. It was an experience I’ll never forget. It was also great that the Habs won and we got to see so many goals scored. Thank you Montreal from a long time fan.
Our first live NHL Game, my husband and boys are Habs Fans. Even though they didn’t win it was a great family Spring Break Vacation.
These were the best seats we have ever had at a Canadiens game. If you can get a corner on the glass, do it!
As someone who does not speak French the intermissions and interactions were hard to understand. But I think someone won $2500.00 by scoring a goal from Centre.

Always wanted to go to a Habs game and took the opportunity of being Montreal for work and it did not disappoint. Great game great atmosphere and the Habs fans did not disappoint. The only improvement would be standing bar tables or ledges to eat and drink in the concourse.
