We have seen AF before and it was so much fun. Music amazing. Just a great experience. It may have been that they were snowed under in Edmonton and didnt know if equipment would arrive. We were disappointed that we paid to see Beck and he pulled out and another performer was to fill in. Concert started 1 1/2 hours late and was AF no warm up performer. I get that due to timing. They eliminated that part of program. it felt flat, not a lot of energy. We were somewhat disappointed especially in Win. He seemed to have a lower profile. We saw them again Because they are usually so fantastic. Maybe not again.
The show was magical. You felt like you were really watching a performance. They entered walking in through the crowd, but my gate entrance actually! They handed something out to the audience. Floors were standup. I haven't seen that in years, but it's nice. They sang great times from over the years. Great laser light show. They got into the crowd a few times while singing. I felt the connection, empathy, realness of the band. Best show I've seen this year.
I bought tickets when it was announced.. meaning the opening acts were Beck and Feist. I paid full price for my tickets. Due to Winn and his actions they dropped out being replaced by someone I did not care to see. In addition, you could buy tickets for less then the price tag due to all of this as the show for closer. All of this is incredibly unfair. They are a good band and musically a delight. The only show related things: they went on at like 930. (Seems late).. I will state though they stayed on past the 11 curfew, which is pretty cool. So a wash.. the late start did have our group discussing the lack of anything good as an opener.
It was a great show-best one of them that I have seen (and I’ve seen them lots). Much smaller crowd. Seems it nearly almost didn’t happen. Tour trucks stuck in snow in Edmonton. They had to rent instruments at the last minute, which explained the late start. Played everything that I wanted to hear. Glad I went.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Arcade Fire concert on Thursday night. They really rocked it out! This is the second time we've seen them live and they did not disappoint. Such a talented band!
Seen them 4 times, and in the past, they have always been outstanding. Unfortunately, this show was underwhelming. Full disclosure, they announced at the beginning that everything on stage was a rental (due to trucks getting delayed/stuck in snow) and an hour before the show, weren’t sure if the show would happen. Personally, I thought the acoustics, lighting, etc. were far from their usual amazing performance (to be expected). Good on them for pulling it off, however for those that paid decent money to see (what they know as) Arcade Fire, it did not meet expectations for the standards set in the past from their amazing performances. On a side note, for those seeing them for the first time, it was not an accurate snap shot of a typical show. Nonetheless, we made the best of it and rocked with them!
Crowd was awesome and the band played great select tracks
First with the news that Beck had pulled out as support act, then the addition of an unheard of band as support, then the choosing and changing of stage times, the whole thing was a mess. The organisation/ production of the show just seemed sloppy and it seemed like no one really cared about us fans who had spent hard earned money on tickets. It affected the crowd numbers and because there were obviously much less people there, the mood was lower than your average Arcade Fire show.
Honestly such an amazing concert! I’ve seen them a few times already but this show the band really took it to a new level. Amazing!!!
After following the We tour - I was somewhat disappointed with the set up of the stage for the 1 Dec concert. It was nothing as extravagant as the rest of the tour. Admittedly they said their equipment was stuck on its way from Edmonton. Did this play a role? No second stage either. The first part of the consent was subdued and then it picked up as it went on. The arena was not full at all. I went to their 2017 concert - everything now- and it was brilliant - so this was a bit of a let down. I saw the second night in TO everything was set up properly and the set list looked amazing. No doubt these allegations have affected the whole vibe of the band.
They always put on a fantastic show and this was no exception. Truly a memorable experience.
I was angry that ticketmaster did not offer refunds after Beck and Fiest pulled out. I bought the tickets for those opening acts. Although I like Arcade Fire , I thought I wouldn’t be able to enjoy watching the band preform after reading all the allegations against Butler. I am ver disappointed.
Felt too uncomfortable to attend given the allegations of sexual impropriety, this sucked the fun out off it.
They always put on a great show! They played all my favourites and I loved them walking through the crowds 😁
We chose leave our seats empty - it would be hard to cheer for a band with the cloud of sexual assault hanging over it. Went to see Stars at Danforth Music hall instead - that was a great show. Arcade Fire will not get another dime out of me.
Arcade Fire was very good yet they were the 2nd reason I bought the tickets.
I'm so happy Win shared the logistic problems they were having getting equipment to Toronto otherwise I would have been really pissed with them. Bands should give themselves enough time between shows in case emergencies arise. Arcade Fire came on late, the lighting was dreadful (why have the bright lights shining into patrons eyes? you can't see the band!) No backdrop 'EYE' from WE..... PLUS, I hated the cellphone ticket only policy...It was a big worry for me (a senior) for six months in case I lost it. or lost my phone etc....
I got vip for this show . Seemed like a waste of money . Had to wait in a line for more than an hour Before going in the show. There wasn’t much special treatment for paying for vip verse general admission . Felt like I got ripped off . Also there was no coat check
Wonderful show. Such a talented band that plays beautiful music.
