We saw the Beatle tribute band at the Sony Centre on Feb 9, 2012 and found the performance to be average. Unfortunately, the Sony Centre does not mark their seating plan correctly as we had orchestra row DD seats which turned out to be 1st row with the speakers right in our faces.
Having seen the production Rain three times we were expecting something similar but Classical Mystery tour failed to deliver. Technically, the music was good, although we could have sworn they missed a few verses in a couple songs, the production was just basic. The Kitchener Waterloo orchestra was the high light adding the right tones when necessary and participating in many of the songs.
The cast portraying the Beatles kept referring to themselves as the "drummer" and the "guitar players" which we found odd because they did dress in Beatle period dress for each segment.
The band failed to get the audience involved other than the ocassional clapping like seals until the encores when the audience finally was invited to stand and dance. Thats when it was good, but sadly 2 hours too late.
