Cleveland Browns Team History

The Cleveland Browns franchise was founded in 1945 as a member of the All-America Football Conference. With the establishment of the team during World War II, the Browns did not play their first regular-season game until 1946, after the war ended. In 1950, the Browns were selected as one of only three AAFC teams to merge with the National Football League.

During their first 40 years in the NFL, the Browns reached the playoffs 22 times. They won four NFL championships between 1950 and 1964, 11 NFL American/Eastern Conference championships, and three NFL Century Division titles. They also won AFC Central Division championships in 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1989. In addition, 23 former Browns have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including Jim Brown, Paul Brown, Otto Graham, Lou Groza, and Marion Motley and Bill Willis — two of the four Black players who helped break the NFL’s race barrier in 1946.

Patriots & Brady visit Cleveland Browns

by Patriotfan on 2016-10-15FirstEnergy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns - Cleveland

Sat in nose bleed seats WAY up on Visitor's side. Minimizes trips down to the concession stand! But the view of the whole field is OK!! No sunshine so much cooler than the Home side of the stands. Be prepared.

Great Game - Browns vs. Broncos

by DJDon on 2015-10-22FirstEnergy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns - Cleveland

Damn cold and windy but a great game in Cleveland vs. Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. Overtime game and wrong team won but still fun. Cleveland has very inexpensive and efficient rapid transit system which takes you right to the front gate.

    Browns game was great!

The whole process of purchasing Browns tickets through Ticketmaster was very easy. It was our first time going to a game, particularly from a long distance away (from Toronto). I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Game on a Really Cold Night!

by jpkowal on 2009-12-14Cleveland Browns Stadium - Cleveland

I will identify myself first. I am from Canada from the Prairie Provinces and travel a far bit. This would be the 3rd NFL game, I attended a San Diego Chargers vs New England in 2001, an Indianapolis Colts vs Chargers game in 2003 and now a Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers Game. Each of the venues were great. The sight lines were fantastic. The seats when available from the Team's websites were not overly expensive, the second hand re-sales for one was double the original cost. All of the games were close contests. The only distraction from the Browns game was the fact that it was the 2nd coldest recorded game in Browns History. I look forward to the next NFL game I get to see in person.

    Packers smoked em

by Vinny on 2009-11-10Cleveland Browns Stadium - Cleveland

Great game if you are a Packers fan. Blew the Browns right out of the building. Cleveland by far has some of the most obnoxious and rude fans in the league. They deserve the terrible product they have had for years.

Impossible not to like Cleveland Browns and their fans.

So this event was really good but only because of the Packers' dominant game. Cleveland other then the rock and roll hall of fame and the football game (and maybe basketball/baseball to if your into those) does not have much to offer. In the bar the night before the packers game, a "Go Pack Go" started, talk about a ghost town when you let your oppenents come in and not only dominate you on the field but in spirtit as well.
