    Incredible!

    by Fran on 2023-07-10

I had the opportunity to see Corinne performing in Toronto , Canada last year. It was a small venue and the concert was amazing. I’ve been her fan for many years and she doesn’t seem to perform in North America so much. I was just searching for her new tour, I wish she would be back in Canada this year but apparently not. She is incredibly talented and graceful.

    Wow! How sweet!

by H. W. on 2023-05-29The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Miss Corinne Bailey Rae is a very talented musician, a gifted singer with sweet voice and mellow emotions. The concert was purely an enjoyable experience and only make fans wanting more encores. The concert venue was a beautiful hall with classical 19th century style motifs.

    Loved it!

    by Sighing on 2022-08-08

She is a really good performer - you can tell she’s very detail oriented and a careful planner. She sang both our favourite songs - I’d do it all Again, and Like a Star. And I was so in love with both. Actually I did feel the band was just alright imo, I was surprised bc usually artist’s bands are REALLY good. But it was overall a really fun experience. And I loved the crowd! They were respectful, fun and cheerful.

    Not that good

    by Leticia on 2022-07-05

I love Corinne music and voice for over a decade and I was super excited to watch her live, but it was a bit frustrating. They put the drums on the front of the stage and I could not listen to Corinne's voice. The drums were everything we could hear and people didn't stop in their seats.

    Atmosphere was brutal!

by V. L. on 2022-07-04The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I haven't been to concert in YEARS so maybe this is just the way things are now?!?!? Why put a 7pm start time when the opener didn't go on till after 8 then the headliner after 9? And what... no announcer to even say who was taking the stage? Until the opener introduced herself 2 songs in I had no idea who it was. Then the concession stand never closed so all throughout the performance people where coming and going and changing seats and getting more popcorn and another beer and hey lets chat a little about how your cell in capturing the event (and blinding the person beside with the light!) Totally like I was listening to a CBR album in my friend's basement. There was zero respect for the artist and the other patrons who just wanted to watch the show without all those distractions. If this is live music now, I'd just as soon stay home!

    High expectations exceeded

by Kevin Goss on 2022-07-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

What a great performance! Corinne sings with amazing dynamic control, excellent pitch, and soul. Some of her melodies are HARD to sing, not because of acrobatic runs, but because of difficult intervals and harmonic tension, but she nailed everything. This is particularly impressive because she DOESN’T have perfect pitch. She sings consistently in tune, but she is human and her pitch wavered slightly a couple of times. I applaud that because it means we are getting an artist with skill rather than help from genetics or (🤢) autotune. Her songs are accessible, yet there us plenty to dive into for an analytical musician like me. The band was great, but special kudos go to her keyboard player who handled a Nord, Rhodes, foot pedals, and vocals seamlessly. It took me a few songs to realize that there was no bass player, and I thought there might have been backing tracks. Then I looked at the Nord and saw where the elaborate bass lines were coming, with the foot pedals being used for more simple but …booming..bass lines. Corinne is not a jazz artist, but she brings a jazz sensibility to her music the way Sting, Paul Simon, and others do. It elevates the music beyond simple harmony without alienating those for whom jazz is too sophisticated. I’m an even bigger fan than I already was. She was also very genuine and graceful with not even a hint of diva/ prima dona attitude.

    Incredible voices!!

by Nancy's living it up on 2022-07-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Amazing show!! I discovered an incredibly talented artist from here in Toronto. Wow! Aria Kain has such an incredible voice. Then the amazing talent of Corrine is so magical! She totally drew us in and made the whole experience! Only change I would make is to put the keyboard and drums at the back of the stage because they sometimes drowned her out. Overall a great night, thank you!!

I really wanted to like it

by Shelley on 2022-07-02The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The opener was awful. Just awful. Amazing voice but terrible songs. She went on forever. I was soooooo excited when Corinne came on stage. I have loved her for over a decade. Her presence was intense. Her voice is amazing but she does NOT enunciate. I wish I could have heard the lyrics to her beautiful songs. I brought my husband who is not familiar with the music, and it may as well have been in another language. I felt really sad and left as soon as I felt she was finished, although I wasn’t sure. I cried after…I felt guilty for not liking it.

Corinne Bailey Rae has a flawless voice, and so much warmth and energy. I will make a point of seeing her again when I can. Also love the Danforth Music Hall as a venue. It is just the right size for a concert.

I didn't want it to end!!!

by Temilola on 2022-07-02The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I have been a fan of Corinne since 2006 when I first heard "Like A Star" on my radio in my bedroom in Lagos, Nigeria. I instantly fell in love with her and her music and looked forward to seeing her play live. Fast forward to June 2022 in Toronto, Canada where I finally got the opportunity to see her in concert. It was an EXPERIENCE!!! I didn't want it to end!! Corinne and her band had us all entranced. It was much more than I expected and very well worth it. Definitely look forward to seeing her again live.
