    Courtyard Hounds -Sweet Harmony

by Dennisdp on 2011-07-17The Great Hall - Toronto

I never have heard of the Great Hall ,but I would go there again in heartbeat. An Old Classic building with an intimate stage and great character. The Hounds sounded great and interacted well with the audience. They were obviously enjoying themselves and were doing exactly what they wanted to be doing. After the mega stadium shows it was obvious they loved making music for their fans and the crowd of about 150, although it sounded much larger in their appreciation for the interesting mix of all the cuts off the first album as well as some great new tunes.I would go see them again in a heartbeat!

Some great new material with Emily and Martie belting out the lyrics over magnificant musical arrangements with every note executed with precision and pasion.

Amazing performance in an intimate venue!

by CourtYardHound on 2011-07-11The Great Hall - Toronto

What a treat to see Court Yard Hounds in such an intimate venue. They sounded amazing and were in great form. New songs sound amazing; can't wait to hear the new record. Venue was a bit warm but that didn't take away from a great show. Openers, The Treasures, were fantastic as well.

    WOW- Fantastic!!!!

by mitch100 on 2011-07-11The Great Hall - Toronto

A dream come true!! My favourite band in a small venue with a very small crowd. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening, took my breath away. Two hours of new material and hits off their first CD. The ladies were in good humour despite the unbelievable heat and the band sounded great. (Loved the female drummer from Vancouver, excellent!!) Played my favourites - Didn't make a Sound & See you in the Spring (with a perfect duet sans Jakob) and even a hoe-down tune that got our boots thumping!! I can only hope that I get a chance to see them in this kind of setting again...until then I have lovely memories to hold onto. Until then I have my CD and their usually web-chat to keep me going. Thanks Ladies!

    Talented and Experienced Performers

by houndfan on 2011-07-11The Great Hall - Toronto

Robison and Maguire can write great music and perform it professionally with a genuine warmth. They, their talented band and loyal crew were all in bird's eye view and the view was great. I don't expect to ever see them perform up close again but I definitely intend to see them perform many more times.

I thought the show was awesome! There seemed to be a bit of an issue with the singing not being heard very well over the loud instrumentation at times, but the ladies are so talented, they still put on a great show. Would also have liked some more seating.
