About

Electro-punk extraordinaires Crystal Castles are excited to announce they will be coming to Australia in May for an exclusive short run of shows.

The ground breaking experimental act, famed for their raucous live shows, will be giving Aussie fans a chance to see their new material live for the first time, as well as playing all the well-loved tracks from their self-tittles albums I, II, and III. The Australian tour will be the first time the band have travelled to our shores since 2013, and comes hot off the heels of announcements that the duo has also been confirmed for two of the biggest festivals on the planet - Coachella and Bonnaroo.

Crystal Castles changed the face of electronic music and club culture when they burst onto the scene in 2008 with their mind-blowing debut self-titled album. Drawing critical acclaim, word spread of their explosive, unforgettable, and visceral live performances, propelling them to the forefront of EDM communities around the world. Headlining shows and major festivals all over the globe, the band went onto forge a reputation as one of the most compelling and energetic live acts in music.

Crystal Castles’ next two albums - Crystal Castles II and (III) - saw them continue to push the envelope and solidify their place in the upper echelons of experimental electronica. Now fronted by a new singer Edith Francis, and with a new album, 2016’s Amnesty (I) to their name, Crystal Castles is writing a new chapter in their already remarkable story.

“Crystal Castles became infamous for their anarchic, and raucous, live shows” – The Music

“one of the most vital and original acts of the early millennium” – CLASH Magazine

“how many acts have found ways of smuggling goth, rave, synthesized pop, electro and a festival-ready live act into rock crowds?”  - Pitchfork

Expect nothing but an explosion of exhilarating energy, with all the favourite crowd-pleasing tunes as well as the band’s freshest material when Crystal Castles play Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.

Waited three hours, barely played one.

by TooSmoky on 2012-10-29Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Mosh pit and lots of crowd surfing by Alice Glass. Nice to hear some variations of older hits but overall the set was short (just under an hour). The amount of fog also meant we barely saw anyone when not riding the crowd. I know Alice has a reputation for not giving a damn but still should have some consideration for the fans paying her bills.

    Crystal Castles

by wokini on 2012-10-28Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Wow. Blew me away with their sonic sounds. To my eyes & ears, this could pass off as one of the best shows of 2012. They had it all. The lights, the atmosphere, the beats, the drummer, Ethan's electronic productions. But it was Alice Glass who stole the show. What a star. What a performer. And by far the best crowd surfer on the planet! Unforgettable experience.

by DJDAVE on 2011-04-04Sound Academy - Toronto

The show was very much a show of lights and sound! Great to hear all the best songs and also amazing to have Mark Holmes sing along to Not In Love. Mark Holmes is lead singer of the 80s band Platinum Blonde, which are from Toronto. What a great night, and unforgetable show!

    I suffocate for Crystal Castles

by ahuntedwitch on 2011-04-04Sound Academy - Toronto

This concert was absolutely amazing, I had the best night of my life. Trust was really good too, I didn't even notice DD/MM/YYYY though. The crowd loved it, there wasn't a dull moment. The encore was amazing and I just can't even describe it. I have never been to such a concert with such a lively crowd and the sound was great. Words can not describe how perfect this show was.
