About

CUT COPY IN CONCERT:

Australian indietronica masters Cut Copy continue to bring the party to the people on their unforgettable tours. The band's live shows combine the real-time groove of a full band with mind-blowing lighting and visuals, making for a nonstop dance party at every concert. Whether they're playing originals like "Hearts on Fire" or covering fellow electro icons like the Presets, Cut Copy's imitable energy and showmanship never fail to leave fans feeling elated and euphoric.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Cut Copy began in Melbourne in 2001 as the solo project of Dan Whitford, a graphic design student with a budding interest in DJing and producing. Shortly after releasing his debut single "1981" Whitford added several members to the group, and In 2003 the new lineup performed their first show at Australia's Livid Festival. Their debut full-length Bright Like Neon Love dropped the following year, establishing them as a rising force in dance music and landing them on tour with big name acts like France Ferdinand and Bloc Party. Their upward momentum continued in 2008 with sophomore album In Ghost Colors, a disco-inspired collection of bangers that topped the Australian charts. Following the 2013 release of their fourth album Free Your Mind, Cut Copy delivered another stellar round of performances on the road, building anticipation among fans for their next tour dates.

    Great Show

by NC on 2022-05-08The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I left the show at 10:30 pm because of using public transport and I live outside of Toronto. Plus I work next day. Since the Covid pandemic transit hours are cut. I hope bands consider to play on time. Next time shall consider general open floor. Not the best venue for balcony seats. The building needs a renovation. Cut Copy light show and overall the show was fun and awesome.

    great besides the sound

by concertgoer on 2022-05-06The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Hi I love Cut Copy and have seen them I think over ten times now, probably more. Something was going on with the sound in the front middle so not sure if it was the acoustics in that spot or the sound person or what but you could hardly hear Dan's vocals and other instruments being over powered by the drum bass/bass.. it sounded muffled. It was weird and was the entire show. I went to the past Cut Copy shows at this same venue and it has always sounded great so not sure what was going on. We were in the middle section and about 6 rows back from the front row so basically standing direct in front of the lead singer Dan.. thought you should know because it affected the whole show and as mentioned above my friends and I had never experienced that before at any previous Cut Copy show. Sounded muffled and subdued. Vocals, synth, bass guitar, guitar etc..

    Cut Copy at Sound Academy

    by Nearing5 on 2011-04-11Sound Academy - Toronto

The show itself was amazing. The lights, music, and atmosphere all came together in the end, and was highly enjoyable. The crowd was a nice mix of fans; though I did get beer spilt on me at one point.
