The breadth of da Vinci's genius was very interesting to discover. We particularly enjoyed the analysis of the Mona Lisa from the scientific view. Viewing his work in the cultural context of his day was helpful. I think the audio guides should have been included in the price. The photos in the Mona Lisa card were cheesy and not necessary.

    Worth a Look

by Alphonse on 2011-11-28MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - Winnipeg

It was my 14-year old son who asked to go to the da Vinci exhibit. I could take it or leave it. He is very interested in technology and art, and he really enjoyed going through the exhibition. We both were surprised at the many and varied inventions that he designed - I had always thought of him primarily as an artist. Of course reprints of his art are on display too, and the Mona Lisa restoration part of the exhibit was quite interesting, if a little more detailed than I needed. The whole exhibition was kind of text-heavy; there was a lot of reading. Full panels full of text giving a lot of useful background and context, but a lot of reading in any case. I was surprised but my son actually took the time to read most of them, although near the end his energy was flagging and he was just reading the headlines. The exhibits we were allowed to touch were the best part as far as I was concerned. After seeing so many do not touch signs, it was fun to be able to work some of the machines and go in the mirror room.

    Who knew!

by KimMcConnell on 2011-11-08MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - Winnipeg

I took my son to view this exhibit and we were both blown away by the invention portion of it. I was always aware of the paintings and drawings but to have the insight into all the things that are relevant to everything that we use today such as the bicycle, skiis, ball bearing, etc The Last Supper will always remain out favourite piece of the exhibit.

We talked about it for weeks. I am so glad we went to see Da Vinci - The Genius Exhibition. It has made me want to search out more about this "ARTIST" I like how much room was given to his painting The Mona Lisa. I can't think how a MOBILE exhibit can get much better

    Not maintained

by DialUp on 2011-10-17MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - Winnipeg

The exhibit is not maintained so don't expect everything to be working properly. You can learn just as much on the web.

    Da Vinci was a genius!

by reviews on 2011-10-08MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - Winnipeg

At first I expected this exhibit to be all about the art and Mona Lisa and what's behind her smile. You know, the typical things Da Vinci was known for. I was impressed to find over half the exhibit was about his inventions and ideas he had from a room with eight mirrors (you can go into) to his triangular parachute! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see more of who Da Vinci was than just the Mona Lisa, though that part of it was amazing!

    Da Vinci was a genius

by DanBrown on 2011-09-25MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - Winnipeg

My 11 year old loved the entire exhibit. Although this exhibit takes a long time to get through, we never noticed that we'd been inside for three hours on a beautiful afternoon!
