Good show, not so good parking.

by Clockwatcher on 2015-10-21Métropolis - Montreal

The Metropolis website said doors open at 5:45 pm. Got there at 5:30, the doors opened 45 minutes late, at 6:30 in near 0 celsius temperature. Not pleasant at all. I personally did not care for the first three bands, but that is my personal taste. Superjoint Ritual was good, good sound, good performance, first time I saw Anselmo, he was quite a presence. Danzig was good, would have been great if Glen's microphone would not have been cutting out, for the first couple of songs, the band was loud and clear and great and you could only hear the singer when he screamed. The sound crew, which were a bit in front of me, were checking cables. I could not, alas, stay for the whole performance, as the parking ticket that I bought from Ticketmaster on their website was valid only until 23:45. I asked the people at The Metropolis, what happens if I arrive at the parking after 23:45, would the place be closed or would I merely have to pay extra, they replied that they did not have any details about the parking that I was referring to, that they have nothing to do with the parking that is sold by Ticketmaster and that people have complained to them about this before and that they suggest to these people not to buy these parking tickets anymore. So, wanting to have access to my car and not being able to come back the next morning to pick it up, I left, 9 great songs into Danzig's show. I was so looking forward to "Dirty Black Summer". So, although I have and I WOULD in the future buy tickets from Ticketmaster, I would NOT buy the parking ticket offered on their website. (The parking was at Complexe Desjardins and was indoors and quite nice.) Next time, I will take the metro or a cab. "I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it."- Groucho Marx

    by orange11 on 2015-07-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Incredible. Amazing, on FIRE. The Evil Elvis, the legendary pioneer that is Danzig tore through Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom with a career spanning setlist. He's 60 years old, and has the energy of a rabid wolverine. I LOVED head banging to every moment and wish I could relive the experience. WOW. \,,/\,,/

    Great show!

    by JETSFAN10 on 2013-08-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Huntress- Singer is quite entertaining.......great up and coming band. Scar the Martyr - Joey Jordinson on drums (Slipknot), kinda industrial feel to the songs. Album not out yet, but soon. They had one or 2 listenable songs, rest sounded like Slipknot 2. I think Huntress were better. Danzig - GREAT. Played all the big songs, great stage. Former Misfits guitarist is part of the show and they played about 6-7 songs. Doyle is a beast to look at. You cant take your eyes off him stomping around the stage in those big boots, what a monster. Tommy Victor (Prong) on guitar is one of the best in the Biz, amazing guitar player. The show was sold out at the Commodore. .Very solid show and well worth the 60$.

    Danzig was good

by bobbypkp on 2013-08-27Sound Academy - Toronto

I had been waiting a long time to see a Danzig show. Not for lack of trying - just never fit. The show was ... good. Wish there were more Danzig songs, though. Some of Danzig IV would have been nice. The Misfits stuff was a nice treat, but were quick. Glenn yelled at some dude in the crowd and seemed to have pissed him off. Like any concert, WE WANT MORE.

25 years later, Danzig still rocks!!!

by MetallicaDan on 2013-08-14Sound Academy - Toronto

This year marks the 25th year of Danzig. I admit I wasn't sure what to expect, but honestly this show just absolutely and completely rocked. Sound Academy is not the best venue, the sound wasn't great but once the show got started and Glenn started rocking with the crowd whatever reservations I had about the choice of venue evaporated. We had VIP tickets but decided to just make our way up front to the stage. Good thing we did as he played all of the classics, with a few new songs but really it was total fan service and the crowd absolutely loved it. Scar the Martyr did a decent job as the opening act.

Danzig great at the sound academy

    by Frenchy77 on 2013-08-12Sound Academy - Toronto

Danzig was great as usual, the venue was good lots of room and good ventilation. I really appreciated the patio where the smokers can go and the security personnel was very good. The sound for the singer was not that great and should be revised.

    Danzig w/ Doyle. Incredible show!

by Jasonking on 2013-08-12Sound Academy - Toronto

Glen danzig and his band were unbelievably great. Simply put it was an awesome solid and flawless performance. Playing a steady groove of Danzig songs then pausing briefly so Glem can " unleash the monster" And Doyle comes out on stage in typical Misfits attire/fashion and they start playing and taking audience requests for classic Misfits tunes. I was thoroughly impressed with the performance and I know have a better understanding of why Danzig and Misfits fans are so loyal.
