    Average show and very short

by Abbath on 2018-08-29The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

To be straight to the point, the show was ok nothing really special considering their crappy last album, and their setlist was very disappointing! However, my main issue was the length of the show: as a headliner band they should do at minimum 90 minutes but they actually finished in 65 - 70 minutes!!! Which is a REAL SHAME!!

Better than I was hoping for!

by Benobot99 on 2018-08-28The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Panzerfaust (the opening band) was interesting, and much better than I was expecting. Dimmu Borgir played 12 songs, with 2 of them being from Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (my favourite album), which was an amazing surprise. Their new music was stellar for a live show! The albums they did not play any songs from were "For All Tid", "Stormblast", and "Spiritual Black Dimensions". I will DEFINITELY see them perform again, as long as they're still a band by then. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dimmu Borgir left us wanting more

by swatmania on 2018-08-26The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

When the lights went down and Panzerfaust took the stage my first thought was where are the lights? A set full of crushing sound made the thought of lights go away for the time being. Then stage set up for the lords of darkness from Norway. Again where are the lights I thought during the first song, yes they are lords of darkness but a little more light would have been great. As for the performance, it was stellar, left me wanting more and hoping they return soon.

    Converted to Fandom

    by Stc139 on 2011-10-09Sound Academy - Toronto

I was only a moderate fan going to see them with a friend, but they played so well that I cannot stop listening to them. Shagrath is intense and brutal live, the band was also very brutal and headbanged at breakneck speeds

I was front row centre and enjoyed all the action...well worth the 4 hour wait. Loved Dimmu's opening. Dawn of Ashes was incredible too!

    Enslaved stoled the show!!!

by Berzebuth on 2010-12-15Métropolis - Montreal

Coming down from Trois-Rivières, we weren't in a rush. So we missed the first band. We were supprised to see that the upper section of the Metropolis was closed, they probably didn't sale enough tickets. Monday night is proably not the best day for a show i guest. Four bands was probably to much. The last three groups were big and ancient enough to provide 3 to 4 hours of show. So Blood red thorn and Enslaved didn't had the chance to play as much song as the public was probably expecting. Blood red thorn were pretty tight, i didn't expect much more then what i heard. They had a few good moments of originality. But overall it was pretty much copy and past from one song to another. Enslaved realy stoled the show, the were completly amazing. My freind that is pretty good musician didn't knew them to much and he really pleased me for the discovered he just had. Those guys were really tight, they really had a exceptionnal chemistry as they share there passion true music with us. Enslaved were realy worth the price even if they just played for about an hour. I was realy sad to only see them for that short period of time. Can wait to see them coming back alone. Dimmu Borgir: Sorry guys, but you didn't grow so much over time. They still play the same patern over and over. It's like music for pre-pubert kids. To much of a commercial band that have a good promotion, good image and good set-up but nothing to share except selling there stuff. Probably they do to much what they are told then what they should! We left after 30 min. of it's boring Dimu... Overall, the sound was realy good like it is pretty much all the time at Metropolis. Sorry for my poor english.
