    Acceptable - Better choreography required.

by Goddesskunda on 2010-10-26Copp's, Hamilton ON - Hamilton

Copp's in Hamilton. My grand-daughter (4 yrs) had no expectations because she wasn't told about the show until we arrived. We told her it was a surprise; so she could be nothing but elated. If we had told her ahead of time, she'd likely have been dissappointed. The show was "okay," mostly because I was with my daughter and grand-daughter. We enjoyed the skating and stories. There were no expectations for the skaters to excel, therefore there was no disappointment in that way; they performed as well as could be expected, but it was noticed their hearts weren't in it. The poison apple scene was the only time there was audience interaction to excite all the children. The Witch and Snow White performed well. And the Ursala creature was very exciting for the children. That was very enjoyable for my grand-daughter. She was afraid during the Ursula scene, and wanted to leave, but that's part of the excitement, and one of her most memorable moments (the scary part). We held on tight and soon she couldn't stop smiling. We told her everything would be fine and rode it out. She relaxed and felt safe and was very happy with seeing Cinderella too. We had VIP seats and were in the front row. The sound was terrible. IT SEEMS THE SOUND WAS PEGGED TOO LOUDLY IN AN ATTEMPT TO COMPENSATE FOR HOW AWFUL SOUNDING THE ENTIRE PERFORMANCE WAS (analog? mono?). OTHER THAN THE LACK-LUSTRE CHOREOGRAPHY, THE POOR SOUND QUALITY IS THE MAIN REASON FOR GIVING THIS 2 STARS. That wasn't fair to the skaters/performers or the audience. I hope to not pay premium price for Princesses on Ice again unless there is some type of indicator it's been greatly improved, or we're given free tickets as compensation. The merchandise is terribly costly, but that's expected gauging, and doesn't have a bearing on this review. A funny thing was: on our way home my grand-daughter asked what her surprise was!! Heeheeheeheehee!! GK

    Disney Princesses was wonderful

    by BJC49 on 2010-04-11Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

My 28 year old daughter & I took my 10 year old granddaughter to this show as a girl's day out. 3 generations and we all enjoyed it . The sets were wonderful and the skating was great. The transitions between stories were seamless. The only complaint would be the high cost of the merchandise and food.

We loved the show! Nana, Mommy and 15 month old Emma enjoyed their time together, 3 generations of Disney lovers. Emma watched the whole thing and the show entertained her, we were amazed at how colourful it was! Can't wait for the Disney on Ice next year!

    Disney Princess on Ice

    by Team5 on 2010-03-26Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

We went to Disney Princess on Ice and thought it was great. The 5 year old loved it but the 2 year old was scared when the lights went low. We were wondering where Flounder was as well. Overall, we would go again.

This is the third year in a row that I have brought my daughter to see Disney on Ice, and once again it was a wonderful performance. My daughter smiled from the time the lights when down until they came up again. The skating was unbelievable, the choreography was beautiful and the music was amazing. I will be reserving my seats as soon as possible, so we don't miss out on this fantastic performance for the fourth year!

Excellent show!!!! Skaters were amazing!! Definitely would recommend it. My two and a half year old daughter loved it, she cried a little when the beast came out and when she thought Snow White was gone but other than that she really enjoyed it. Food and gifts were over-priced but that is to be expected at any event.
