    Felt a little rushed

by Fan on 2022-05-11John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Show started late around 8 and finished early at 9:30. Overall good music, but it felt a little rushed. Of course, silver lining.. sang along American Pie. Good storytelling, but felt a little rushed and short.

    50th Anniversary

by The Rocket on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Enjoyed the concert although I felt it was short. Don McLean is an iconic singer/songwriter and although he can’t hit the high notes anymore, he has adjusted his singing to accommodate this problem. The last time we saw him was in the early 80’s down at Ontario Place outdoors. Longer performance for a $6 entry fee to the grounds!

    Ok.

by Ching on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Wete just a little dissappointed with his performance. I guess weve known him when he was younger and expected to see thesame or more or less the same. Sorry!

Good accommodations and wonderful concert of Don Mclean

by Emma on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

More concerts with reasonable price. We need more iconic singers specifically classical music which I love to watch like David Gates, Paul Anka etc

    Great concert

by American Pie Lover on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Concert venue was great. Not much in the way of ushering as I noticed a number of people lost while looking for their seats. Don was great. Loved the stories and little anecdotes he shared throughout. Was looking for more. Concert started 10-15 minutes late at 745 and concluded at 915-20. Oh well, I guess the band is old now and can’t go as long as before. Anyway. Glad I went.

    Great Show

by Michael on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Loved his stories. His personality was a surprise. Don was a real ham. Eclectic music. Thought he was going to do an encore. Still a fantastic show.

    Ticket, venue, performance

by Bob on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

This was my first experience with a digital-only ticket. I was nervous but pleasantly surprised at how easily it was scanned. I had never been in the John Bassett Theatre before. It is an excellent venue, however the sound was much, much too loud -- lots of people were holding their hands over their ears. Don McLean's voice is gone. His songs are great, but his recycled jokes have worn thin, and his singing was an embarrassment.

    D McLean

by Old guy 48 on 2022-05-10John Bassett Theatre - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - Toronto

Nice theater Sound was too loud for the first two songs. McLean plays guitar nicely and his voice is still good, though not as good as in his youth. He seems antagonized re social media, perhaps due to the unfortunate publicity he has experienced re his ex He did most of his hits, except Dreidel.
