How to Train Your Dragon was great

by Papablue32 on 2013-02-11Credit union centre - Saskatoon

Excellent show. My four kids, ages 2-10, loved it. The two younger ones were a little scared for the first little while until they remembered that toothless was his Hiccup's, then it was fine. We bought them all a stuffed dragon at half time to remember the experience.

Built up to be so wonderful, but wasn't.

    by Jewels545 on 2012-12-30MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The bottom line is: this show was built up to be "spectacular" and it was not good. For the show I saw, the tickets were very expensive, with half of the show being digital screened television. The concept is really neat, but the acting was off, hard to hear and the whole thing felt awkward and silly. This show is geared only to children aged 5 and 6. That is a very narrow age range. If a child was younger than that they were crying and scared, older than that they were bored and antsy. I felt embarressed as an adult to be sitting in the audience due to the awkward-ness of the actors and the dialogue itself. I will not be recommending this show. Go see the movie and leave it at that.

    So Cool!

by Mommyallboys on 2012-12-10Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

We really enjoyed this event! My friend and I drove for 4 hours with 4 boys to see this! We had awesome seats ( although not VIP ), we were up close to see the dragons coming over to the sides which was super exciting and maybe a little scary for the boys! We were sitting along the side of the stage and the VIP's were facing straight on to the stage and back wall which would have been a better view with how they used the wall with the projection screen to make the scenes feel like it was happening outdoors ( for example when the dragons were flying the scenes of the water below them and going over tree tops ). But we were so close to the dragons that we felt we had a better seat than the VIP's. I think the price of the VIP seating was a rip off. I understand that you get to do the backstage thing too but it was way too pricey. The way our seats were, we had 3 empty rows in front of us due to the heat of the fire that puffs up through out the show. So we were row 4 with no one in front of us which was great.

The show was almost identical to the movie. I wanted to see more vikings. The use of the movie screens gave so much depth to the show. I wish I hadn't seen the movie so many times before going. My five year old grandson lives in the land of Berk!

How To Train Your Dragon was Spectacular!

    by Gerg27 on 2012-12-02MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I took my 6 year old daughter for her birthday and we both had a great time. I was very excited when we sat down, as our seats were amazing. The best in the house if you ask me. The show was a good length, followed the storyline of the movie (of which we were both familiar), and had great animatronics. The dragons looked so real and I could even notice their muscles moving.

Must see for families with kids

by PinoyMom on 2012-11-30MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Without a doubt, the dragons were the stars of the show. Great production and animatronics, but writing and acting performances leave a bit to be desired.
