Great show, great venue! I hadn’t been to a drum corps show in quite a few years, I’m so glad I chose the Drums Along the Waterfront in Buffalo:)

    Incredible!

by Newbold1 on 2018-08-08New Era Field - Orchard Park

Incredible show. Each corps was really good but they just kept getting better and better until the final four brought the house down. This is a spectacle that everyone should experience at least once.

Blue Devils...... out of this world

by Snorts on 2018-08-08New Era Field - Orchard Park

Powerful, amazing, unforgettable,a theatre production that has so much. Just try to explain what you heard and saw to a friend who wasn’t there!! YOU CAN’T !! A first timer was with me and she was blown away. She couldn’t explain why she was getting goose bumps lol. I get them every time I see a show.

    changes not for the good

by BarbieJR on 2018-08-08New Era Field - Orchard Park

most of the corps have focused so much on technical skills that they have missed entertainment value. A lot of the choreography was too femininely soft and music scores unrecognizable. Best parts of the evening the encore by Bluecoats and the preshow Bills percussion team.

    Fantastic Show

by Newbold1 on 2017-08-09New Era Field - Orchard Park

I have been a drum corps fan for over 50 years and I love most of what the corps are doing today. The speed, precision, and musical ability of these young men and women is incredible. I do, however, have a couple of suggestions. Most of the audience would love the hear some music they are familiar with. Most of the corps have followed Phantom Regiment and are doing most classical music. A lot of the corps have foregone their uniforms for costumes--I would like to see a return to the traditional uniforms with perhaps the color guard in costumes. Lastly, I would love to see a return of the "retreat" at the end of the competition where all the corps returned to the field (each in its own unique way), listened to the scores with incredible class, and then an encore from the winning corps. All the modern changes to DCI have been positive and these corps just keep getting better and better every year. It would be nice, though, to see them retain more of the traditions of drum corps. All this being said, I will be back to Drums Along the Waterfront next year, cheering and clapping until my throat and hands are sore.

    Great show BUT!!!!!

by Newbold1 on 2016-08-10Ralph Wilson Stadium - Orchard Park

The corps were incredible as usual and once the show started, it ran like clockwork. The BUT comes from the half hour delay in starting the show due to the traffic jam getting into the parking area and the lineups due to security. I understand the security part but I don't get the traffic jam. The Ralph Wilson Stadium masterminds have to figure out how to get the cars in without being in a lineup for an hour. Those of us that left in plenty of time had to wait for the stragglers to come in. I have been attending drum corps for over 50 years and have NEVER had a show not start on time (not DCI's fault). Also, what happened to the RETREAT ceremony? Two years in a row the Phantom Regiment have bee gracious enough to do an encore but all the other corps were apparently in too much of a hurry to get somewhere else. The Cadets' drum major was not even there for the scores and awards. One of the great things about DCI has always been the retreat and all the corps playing together. I feel cheated and hope this is corrected in the future.
