Great show and very good warm up act, the only problem in the sound man got carried away with the volume knob the Walker has excellent sound projection turning it up that loud just sounds worse than what he started at. But a very good show anyway.

    Ed is amazing!

Awesome show! "Unplugged" is a bit of a misnomer though, and that's a good thing.

If you like Throwing Copper, this is for you.

by WPGOLPFAN on 2016-03-15Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Overall a pretty good night. Here's what you're going to get: Ed plays guitar all night, which means you don't witness his true stage prescence from back in the Live days. He is joined on every song by a dude on electric guitar, so it really isn't unplugged at all. They played Throwing Copper in its entirety. Then after a short break they returned to play 5 songs (4 Live songs, and 1 new Ed solo song). I was dissapointed that they didn't play longer (1.5 hours total) and skipped (in my opinion) Live's two greatest songs: 'They Stood Up for Love' and 'Dance with You'.

Bare bones. It was Ed and another guy with a guitar in front of a screen showing anything from a guy tapping on a painting as a drum, to artsy moments. They had to have been using prerecorded drums and who knows what else to fill in the other instruments. They did the songs from Throwing Copper, another 4 songs, then shut it down for the night. There was a heavy bass presence that distorted the sound quite a bit throughout the 90 minute performance. Not a thumping bass, but more like an overload problem with the sound system. This concert was not about the music, but rather Ed looking to cash in on his fame from 15-20yrs ago without his bandmates that he dumped in order to collect the full take at the door. For $50 you could have bought Throwing Copper and a case of beer. Ed didn't talk a whole lot so if you were looking for nuggets from the Live days, there weren't many. That being said, the concert didn't ruin the evening, but it didn't greatly enhance it either.

    Great Time!

by Elliemae on 2016-03-15Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

It was a 2 man band and they did a fantastic job. He sounds exactly like he did 20 years ago. It was a blast listening to the whole album from start to finish. I had a great time!

    Aaaah-Maaaze-Baaals. Ed killed it!

by PeeDizzle on 2016-03-06Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

I would have expected him to sound exactly the same 20 years ago. Front to back, he played my childhood for me. I got sad as I knew the album was coming to an end. But I appreciated his candidness, the "No Shuffle" approach and his insane musical talent. His sidekick was awe-inspiring. Best show I've been to since I was a kid.

    Ed Kowalczyk

Do yourself a favour and see Ed live - voice is still amazing. I would see the show again next week if he was in Vancouver. Only wish is that he would have played the unreleased demo "Hold Me Up" from Throwing Copper - my favorite song - but I realize his song library is high. Fantasctic show!

    good stuff

Ed presented a good mix of Classic +Live+ songs and songs from his solo career. His voice is still great, and seeing him with just a guitar was interesting.
