The ticketmaster electronic tickets-on-phone-only was a complete and utter disaster. At home it took about half an hour from initial log in, though multiple other log ins and webpages, sending tickets in some complicated way to each other to finally completing the transaction. At the venue, although we had purchased two tickets one would not scan - Rogers helpful staff ended up making a workaround to admit us. Took about 23 minutes to get in to the event from the first scan of our mobiles. We since heard that many had similar ticketing issues. Scanning staff found the on-phone-only tickets slow and glitchy. Game was good - sadly a bit unequal.

    Would go again!

by Chickiebean on 2018-09-14Rogers Place - Edmonton

Great event, good seats, no complaints. The event was great to see. It was nice to see some boys, who used to play in the WHL play again.

    No competition

by CPDA on 2018-09-14Rogers Place - Edmonton

They need to go back to playing the UofA Golden Bears for a competitive game. Concession prices for a "family event" are a complete RIPOFF!

Game was great - seating and ushers were terrible

    by mom22kids on 2018-09-14Rogers Place - Edmonton

The actual game, which I went to see was great, but was put off by the rudeness of the usher that was working. First we were kicked out of the seats we were in and then 10 minutes later they let everyone in that section. We had to squish in to the middle seating area with so many others and we could not see the whole game. I came back and was forcibly told that I could not sit down while play was on, I have been to hockey games my whole life and know how to conduct myself there, even though my seat was in the last row and the first seat in the row. While I am waiting for a whistle to get to my seat which is literally one step away and in front of no one, this usher says NOTHING to 7 people who came up during the play and 3 that bolted past him (while he was talking) So the Rogers staff definitely ruined the evening and I will NOT ever go to a general admission event there again

Game was great, finding a seat was bad!!!

    by EdmontonFan123 on 2018-09-14Rogers Place - Edmonton

When I arrived with 4 kids in tow, I noticed they only had 9 seat sections open out of 24 in the lower bowl and there were many people standing around on the main level. When I asked a Rogers employee where she thought there was room for 6 of us in the same section, she said you may want to walk around a bit because seating looked limited. After missing the first period, because we didn’t have a seat, we decided to spend $110 on pop, popcorn and a couple of hot dogs. Now before the start of the second period, it was time to find a seat. We went through 4 different Rogers employees, that stand at the top of the isle’s, before we met one that worked with us to find a seat. Keep in mind, roughly 2/3’s of the lower bowl is empty. After the attendant managed to find 4 seats in one row and 3 seats 2 rows up, we now had seats. It was the nice people sitting in the rows that moved around making it possible for my family to sit together. FINALLY, 7 minutes into the second period, we were sitting watching the game. The game was great, the seating was the issue!!!

Griffins/Ooks vs Oilers First time to Rogers Place

by CateandFriends on 2017-09-16Rogers Place - Edmonton

As a proud MacEwan University Griffin fan, it was an awesome experience to see my team and the across 118 Ave rivals, NAIT Ooks, go up against the Oilers rookies. What was amazing was that the university/tech institute team shut out the Oiler rookies. As it was general seating, we secured good seats. A word of caution - Rogers Place should be more forthcoming about the back pack rule as many people got stopped and had to return to campus or their cars to drop their backpacks.

    $45 Fast Food, Never Again

by Anonymous on 2017-09-16Rogers Place - Edmonton

The hockey was fun for my kids. I will take them to a free day at one of the colleges instead of to Rogers Place next time. The food at Rogers is beyond a rip off. $10 plain hot dog, $16.00 chicken fingers, etc. It isn't just expensive, it is absolutely ridiculous. My suggestion to Rogers is to offer a range of food- cheap concession mixed with higher end food fare. It was just so disappointing.

    Bears and Oilers game

    by Mike12345thhhh on 2015-09-19Rexall Place - Edmonton

Was a little suspicious going in about the plan to install metal detectors at Rexall. My suspicions were replaced by annoyance as I stood 200th in line to get in - 5 minutes before game time. Spent the first 10 minutes waiting to get to my seat as I had to wait for a whistle, behind 20 other people that had waited with me for the metal detectors to work. Finally sit down to a pretty decent hockey game. Second period go downstairs to enjoy a $9 glass of beer - $30 for a round for me and two buddies. Too cheap to sped another $20 on bad food so go back to my seat. The game was great but, like the last 30 years I've been going to Rexall, the surrounding support services were really weak. Can't wait for the new building (the cost of ticket there is another rant that I will save for later).

    Oilers-Bears rookie game

by deeh on 2015-09-19Rexall Place - Edmonton

A good time! The only downside to the night was the length of time taken to get into Rexall with all of its new security measures which i think are good needed but a little over the top.
