    Simply fantastic show

by sparky61 on 2011-02-19Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This show was a surprise for my wife - she is a fan of Elvis since late sixty - I even took her to Graceland in 1992 - she has a full collection of Elvis books, music, old albums etc... There is a room in our house dedicated to Elvis - walls are painted dark yellow and black trimmings (Graceland Tv room) She would never agree to go see a show like this one - to her there was only one Elvis, and I'm not a very big fan of Elvis but after this show were she went from, crying, shaking, laughting, etc... heck I even stood up for the standing ovation at the end - she will never forget that night at the Centennial Concert Hall Thanks for the memories

    Elvis Lives!

by MissKiss on 2011-02-10Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This show was wondrful. "Elvis" was so relaxed and fun to watch, he truly owned the stage. And so refreshing to see such a professional, all-Canadian act. My husband and I agreed that we would see him again, great, great show.

Elvis - A disappointing song selection

by Kaydee2 on 2011-02-08Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

The show was not up to the standard of previous Elvis - Comeback Specials. (I've been to 3 earlier shows) The first part of the show was disappointing. Song selection was not the greatest. Many of Elvis' songs from the 1950s and early 60s would have been far better performed WITHOUT the accompaniment of a trumpet and saxaphone! Let's have them performed as they were originally performed by Elvis -- guitar(s), drums, honkey-tonk piano and back-up singers where appropriate. Steve Kabakos has a great voice and stage presence, all he needs is a stool/chair and minimal accompaniment -- the "brass" detracts from his renditions of these earlier songs. The second half of the show was much better, not so choppy with costume changes, better selection of songs. I'd like to see a future show with songs predominantly from the 50s and early 60,s. That would be "Such a Night"!!!

    Amazing

by buckinear on 2011-02-08Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Steve was amazing. He does sound like Elvis that's for sure. My sister and I have seen other Elvis impersonators and he sure is good. I would however like to hear him sing more songs from the Elvis movies. I have seen the movies and re-watch them any chance I get. Unfortunately I do not own any the his movies, but if given the chance and money would surely buy them all. If he were to change his show like he said to more of the 50's or to a overview of the popular songs from all his movies (or not) we will be buying tickets the minute they come on sale. The other girls from work were sure jealous when they found out I was going to see "Elvis". I have already received instructions from friends to buy them a ticket or else........

First time my wife and I had ever seen Stephen Kabakos. We were both very impressed!! He played to the audience very well and made you forget he wasn't the real Elvis. He gave scarfs to 2 little girls in the front row and then sang little sister. The band was exceptional and played to his every move. We would love to see him play 50's and 60's era in the future. We were recently at the cirque de Elvis in Vegas and at 1/2 the price we actually enjoyed Stephen Kabakos much more. Great Venue and Great Event!!!!!

    Kola

by Kola on 2011-02-07Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

I very much admire the amount of researchand rehearsal it took to get every detail of Elvis's stage presence down to perfection..and he could stay in character while still being truly humble. The visual impact of his presentation was amazing.

by Dawnaroo59 on 2011-02-07Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Steve Cabaskis is amazing. Even though I am not a Elvis fan I enjoyed the concert immensely. We had 3rd row seats and the sound was incredible!

    Just like seeing Elvis!

by Changes on 2011-02-07Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This show was awesome! There were times during the show where I felt like I was watching the Real Elvis Presley. His physique, costume and appearance resembles that of Elvis so very much. Needless to say his voice was simply amazing! I was not easily convinced to go see this show for there are so many Elvis impersonaters out there but I will most definitely go back to this this one.
