    Unique, creative and entertaining

We thoroughly enjoyed this show. The man is very talented and brings an interesting technological slant to the violin. Highly recomment this for music lovers who enjoy something a little different.

Amazing! He is such a brilliant composer/artist that never ceases to impress me. And what a humble attitude he has! I was reduced to tears a few times...

Owen's talented hands at the speed of light

by Joby on 2010-05-10Vogue Theatre - Vancouver

It was unbelievable to see how much Owen did on his own, since he only his violin and keyboard. He recorded and then looped his base line/melodies so they were in the background and sang/played on top of those. He had some friend playing drums and funny noises periodically, but obviously you could tell Owen was doing all the work. His newer music is a bit heavier, but still interesting. The only bad part was the lights.... the light guy had these annoying lights that swept the audience and pierced your retinas for half the show! I had to close my eyes for a lot of the songs. It was pretty distracting and irritating. Overall though, I'm glad I finally got to see him!

Final Fantasy left a lasting impression!!!!

by teachergirl on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

It is such a shame that true musicians such as Owen Pallett are not recognized for their creativity. Pallett's performance was poetic in nature, and awe inspiring for many young canadian artists who believe in art for art's sake. He has an unmistakable presence; when using his various instrument; including the violin. One can't deny that unless one has the combination of natural ability, years of training and the wisdom of strings, an avearage person could not accomplish the technical skill he has acquired. This acquisition has made him wise beyond his years. Yet, this seemingly unassuming individual almost seems to be self-depricating in his nature as implied when he humbly stated that he only wish he could be the type of musicians that of his opening act Snowblind. He played many songs from his new album Heartland which conceptionally could be comparable to any Leonard Cohen albums. Pallett has had to unfortunately drop the stage name Final Fantasy and has decided to go with his own name. His fans will undoubtably follow him which ever name he goes by. The ecclectic musician that has led his fans on his journey are waiting on baited breath for more.

Owen took me off my feet

by starstruck11 on 2010-04-09Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

What an amazing show! QET - perfect setting. Owen's talent still leaves me with goose bumps. A great opener (Snow Blink) who really connected with the crowd to get things rolling. Owen chatted with the crowd and was not only his normal amazing musical and talented self but humorous and trying new things. His friend Thomas or as Owen called him "Puppy Dragon" contributed to the show with drums, whistling and back up singing - a great touch. I truly loved the show, he has real talent!!
