    Fire of Anatolia Disappointed

by AGDanceLover on 2013-11-07Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We hoped for a lot of Turkish dancing, including, of course, much belly dancing. Unfortunately, most numbers represented no more than a weak imitation of Riverdance. There was just one belly dance, which was beautiful, and a few interesting dances by men; these dances being native to Dagestan, an area in the Caucus Mountains.

    Fire of Anatolia

Very well choreographed. I enjoyed seeing dances from the 4 regions of Turkey. Second half of the show was livelier and more entertaining.

    Anatolian Fire

by medsec on 2013-11-04Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Do not waste your money! One of the worst events I have attended. Instead of having dancers in their native dress from the various areas and ethnic groups in Turkey, we got a very poor version of Riverdance.

We had no idea what this was about when we arrived, however thoroughly enjoyed it. There was no program or explanation for us to read for those whom did not know it was a Turkish Folklore which someone sitting next to us let us know. They also wondered why we bought ticket to see this production. I, am a dancer, and my husband thought I might enjoy this which I did

    Fire of Anatolia

I have travelled around the world and seen many dance performances. The Fire of Anatolia is head and shoulders above the best of the best. Why no CDs?

Amazing show with fluent arrangement. No boring moment...... Stage setting can be dramatic as right now just the projection.

i had high expectations, but it didnt meet anything i was expecting...overall it lacked in customs, dance (some performers looked out of shape, couldnt keep up with the ryhthm). i spent $130 and came out extremely disappointed. i have already started not to recommend it...on top of that we couldnt take pictures!! what is that about???
