About

GARNET ROGERS IN CONCERT:

Singer-songwriter Garnet Rogers has been a treasure of Canadian folk music for nearly four decades, and he remains as beloved and impressive as ever. Rogers got his start performing alongside his brother, the late great folk hero Stan Rogers, and since Stan’s untimely death in 1983 Garnet has done the family name proud as an acclaimed solo artist. At his live shows he takes the stage with an arsenal of guitars that would make any gear nut swoon, picking out evocative melodies on his three vintage Gibsons, a Fender Stratocaster, and a Hammertone Octave 12. His soulful baritone voice and heartfelt lyrics make each concert a deeply emotional experience, and fans can’t help but be moved by his impassioned renditions of favorites like “Night Drive” and “All That Is”. With his poignant songs and virtuosic guitar skills, Garnet Rogers gives ticket buyers a night to remember every time he hits the road on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ontario-born Garnet Rogers rose to prominence performing with his older brother, Canadian folk legend Stan Rogers. Following Stan’s tragic 1983 death in an airplane fire, Garnet soldiered on, making his solo debut the next year with a self-titled album. Whereas Stan’s songs grew out of traditional Canadian Maritime styles, Garnet established his own unique sound by incorporating elements of blues, rock, and even classical music. Garnet maintained a steady release schedule throughout the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s, including a 2002 best-of album titled All That Is. In 2014 he released Summer’s End, a tour de force that proved he remains as vital a songwriting force as ever.
