This concert was tasty as FUNK

by ksleazy on 2017-08-01Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Amazing show. Tons of energy and emotion. Great variety of styles. Everything was funky, but they also had a few heavier metal inspired songs and also some ballads. They nailed the classics that they did play. The only complaint I have was the sound quality on the mics. It was next to impossible to hear the lyrics most of the time. You could hear the melody of the vocals at least so it didn't really detract much from the show at all.

    Good to your earhole!

by lazysod on 2010-02-15The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

George and co. were sweet. A very hard-rocking show using a stripped-down band (only 11 this time including Sir Nose) that flourished with funk and groove. Hypnotic guitar jams gave way to sonic odysseys with all comfortably aboard the mothership. You danced, you rocked you even thrashed a bit as P-Funk wonderfully violated you acoustically.

Had a blast from the past. The performers were engaging, the crowd was positive, the music was hypnotic. I had a funky good time. As well, hearing Maggot Brain live was exquisite!!

    George Clinton and Parliament Deliver

by wrathofelvis on 2009-07-20The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

As always, the interplanetary funksmanship took the Pheonix to another place as the Mothership touched down last night. At 68, George Clinton still puts on one the best shows in the music business

    just kept going!

by AMcDirty on 2009-07-20The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The music was awesome, the venue was great! You were able to get as close to the performers as you wanted, or sit back and enjoy the show. The women's washrooms are kind of out of the way, and the sounds quality was okay...but could have been clened up a bit so we could hear the words more than the loud bass.

Wild music from the 70's. Excellent musicians. Crazy outfits - very retro and absurd. Maggotbrain was crazy.
