About

GRiZ on Tour

One of the leading independent artists in electronic music today, GRiZ is the Detroit-born, Denver-based multifaceted artist who's funkin' up dance floors worldwide with his self-described future funk sound, which mixes electronic music with his fiery live saxophone, energetic funk, and sweeping electro-soul.

Following a full year of self-reflection and creative development, GRiZ returns with ‘Ride Waves,' his new self-released album due out April 5, 2019. As his most creatively ambitious and most personal project to date, the 14-track album features collaborations with major artists like Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Matisyahu, DRAM, and Bootsy Collins and sees the producer taking his sound toward uncharted territories in hip-hop, pop, and dance music, all while keeping the funky GRiZ sound intact. The album follows his breakout album ‘Good Will Prevail' (September 2016), which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Electronic chart and charted on the Billboard 200 chart.

GRiZ's live shows, which mix improvised saxophone, guitar, and vocals and include the 15-piece GRiZ Live Band, have become massive draws around the world. In addition to mainstage performances at major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, as well as headlining sets at Electric Forest and Lightning in a Bottle, GRiZ has headlined and sold out Denver's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre for four consecutive years. www.mynameisgriz.com

Good, but too much hard dubstep!

by IG on 2019-10-21Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Overall the concert was pretty good, and when he played his original songs with the brass musicians and singers it was great. But... there was may too much hard dubstep that didn't have any of the funky sound that we usually know and like Griz for. The first 40 min of the concert was just angry robots and pounding dubstep with basically no vocals or brass instruments at all. Not really true to the stuff that Griz produces.

What a great night! funkily delicious!

    by Blind004 on 2015-05-12Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Griz was great! Top quality performance! He played live sax over his tracks for the most of the show in between mixing around. Some of the set he wasn't playing his sax and that was fine, you can only ask so much of the guy, but there were other times when it appeared he was playing his sax when the sound coming from the speakers said otherwise, I don't know if it was a huge screw up on the sound guys part multiple times, but when you play a live instrument over the track you can hear the dynamic sound of it, it's louder then the music, where other times it appeared he was playing, but the sound was identical to the one on the track and no where near the definition of the rift he would play prior and after (when it seemed he actually was playing) so either a bad sound guy, or some lip syncing with a sax! Don't get me wrong, great show all in all! I did find the commodore had the speakers cranked a little loud and picked up distortion buuuuut meh! Had a great night, drinks weren't too crazy priced! No where to smoke if your a smoker! Oh well! :)
