Concert was great, muddy, dirty and fun! Loved it being at downsview park because it gave us the freedom we needed. Can't wait until next summer!!!

    Welcome to MUDFEST 2012!

by Soth897 on 2012-08-22Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

Mud. It may not be what you wanted, but it's what you got. Lots of it. Probably more than you've ever seen before. The weather was a definite downer on the show. Granted, at least it wasn't scorching hot. The (final) lineup this year was a bit lackluster, depending on what kind of metal you're into. Lots of technical death (great if you're into it), and headliners that would have been a supporting act had any bigger name bands been available. It was unfortunate that Lamb of God didn't make it, but understandable with he whole Czech prison fiasco. It was also too bad that they took Dethklok away with them. It was ok overall, but paled in comparison to last year's lineup. Only the 2nd year for this festival, so it seems like it's still finding it's feet.

Despite the awful muddy sea that was the venue, every band put on a spectacular show. I was highly disappointed that Summer Slaughter was mashed together with Heavy T.O. initially, because I mainly went to see Between the Buried and Me. They were headlining SS, but because the two festivals were combined, their set was condensed to half an hour. Anyone who knows BTBAM, knows it is madness to provide them with only 30 minutes. Other than that, combining SS with Heavy T.O. did allow me the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream of seeing System of a Down, and that was sublime. The crowd was incredible.

Muddy as hell, but just flat out amazing! The line up was great, people were fun, and it was good all around. Definitely going next year if the line up is good!

Bands were amazing, especially Suicidal, Slipknot and System!!! Able to find delicious vegetarian food this year. Hate the waste involved. I would love to buy a reusable Heavy TO cup and be served draught beer. Should go back to allowing unopened bottle of water or provide a water station. $4-$6 bucks for water, not cool. Definitely can't wait 'til next year!

The line up was a perfect storm!

by Justinicus on 2012-08-16Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

We travelled a long way and spent a lot of money to get there, but it was all well spent. The acts were all fantastic and the venue was great! Now if only they would let us bring in water we would be set!

    Heavy Mudslide Weekend

by MurderDoll on 2012-08-16Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

Although Saturday was a little soggy, the show was definitely worth taking in. The crowd braved the mud and the rain to show their love of metal. The bands put on a good show - each one taking the stage on time.

    Heavy TO was awesome!

by Misstee on 2012-08-15Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

What an awesome time!! Despite the weather the day was incredible. Bands were great and sound was sharp. As always the crowd was amazing and fun! Made some friends. Band lineup was much better this year than last year. Can't go wrong with Slipknot, System of a Down and Five Finger Death Punch! It was unfortunate Lamb of God could not make it but know that Randy would have if he could. All in all and amazing event!

Slipknot & System of a Down are minuscule bands in comparison to last year.

This is Toronto's metal and hard rock festival. Everything is as expected. Which is great. They could've spent more on wood chips though as it was really muddy. It's like the entire place is an ocean of slippery and inches-thick mud.
