My second Hey Ocean concert at Rum Runners. Even better than the first show. Please come back soon guys!
This show was amazing! The performance was incredible. The band invited everyone up for at dance party at one point and the energy in the venue was awesome. I have seen hey ocean before and it was a really good show But this show blew my expectations out of the water! The opening act was also great. I can't wait to see them again!
Great Hall is my new favourite venue. It's intimate but still big enough that there are enough people so you can really get into it. Hey Ocean were amazing! They totally had the crowd into every song and they sounded as good or better live compared to their recorded music.
I really enjoyed myself at this show. It took place in a small venue, which only allowed for a more intimate experience with the band. In my mind, this is the best way to take in Hey Ocean! (though I would love to one day see them playing to a stadium. They deserve the fame) The show started somewhat later than I expected. The doors were supposed to be 8 30pm, but didn't open until closer to 9 and the opening band wasn't playing until around 9:45. The Zolas were the opening act. They're music was decent, but I doubt I'll be adding them to my ipod anytime soon. They lacked something in the performance department. Often times they were all buried in their instruments or doing a little move that was clearly routine and never spontaneous. It felt disconnected and awkward though like i said, they were a pretty good opener. Hey Ocean! on the other hand, plays to the crowd magnificently. Crowd involvement was at a premium, and the whole band (even the unofficial members) were true performers. Everything about them felt fresh. It was definitely a worthwhile experience if you like the band.
Exactly that! I don't understand how a band who emanates love and peace through music can attract such a large group of yuppie idiots! Friends of mine actually got pinched in the back ...a couple of girls pulled my hair..I just don';t understand where these people come from?! If you hate people so much - stay home next time! Don't ruin the experience of positive music for others by your greedy, hate -charged behavior.
