Hong Kong Ballet Tickets

We had a great night. Excellent performance!!! Great to see them here in Ottawa. Come back again.

The orchestra, costumes and stage presentation were outstanding. The same cannot be said for the Hong Kong ballet dancers that looked like amateurs and some as dance students. The Aurora ballerina that performed on March 4, couldn't hold herself still while greeting the 4 princes, I thought at 2 instances she was going to fall!! Amazing that they chose this dancer as principal! The Lilac princess on first Act did not point her toes from her right foot, it looked as if she was hurting or her pointe-shoe was broken, a shame that they let her perform like that. The only worthwhile dancing was from Prince Desire and from the couple that performed the bird's dance, they saved the day. Overall very poor dance performances, we've seen many and much better interpretations of Sleeping Beauty by professional and amateur ballet dancers in many countries, including at the NAC. It was certainly not worth the $100.- per ticket, Worth just $20.- Extremely disappointed. Our disappointment came to a high point when during the 3rd Act, a baby started crying in the orchestra section and the parents didn't even think of taking him/her out, as a consequence 2 dance numbers were missed from a distracted audience. The NAC should review their policy about letting young children being admitted at late performances (this happened at way after 10 p.m.). Shame, shame, shame.

Very good performance...interesting choregraphy. Wonderful orchestra and dancers. Was a little long for my 7 year old!!!
