    Conceptually entertaining

by Mbed on 2011-05-27National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

This play presented an interesting concept with tapping representing the theme and words of the dancers/actors. I struggle with the star rating because the play itself did not follow through completely with the concept: the speaking role of the professor was quite overdone. The dancing was superb and the actors showed talent in their musicality and technique, particularly Tip; his ability to carry his disability through his wonderful dancing was excellent. However, I also found the theme juvenile; I would highly recommend it for youth of 10-16 years. Overall, it was quite enjoyable, but the tickets were overpriced and prohibitive for the ideal audience. Perhaps you can see my dilemma in rating!

Fun to watch young people enjoying themselves

by Winter1 on 2011-05-25National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I enjoyed the show very much. It was great to see young people having so much fun and to see them doing something that you could tell they feel passionate about. Although, I missed the dialogue, the overall message of the play was clear. The teacher was absolutely fantastic, I felt that she added the element that brought the whole story together. She was excellent.

    I think I can

by Fafouine on 2011-05-16National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Excellent writing and dancing. Entertaining for all ages. I brought my 13 year old grandson and we both left the theatre lighthearted . We were amazed how well they could convey emotions though dancing and body expressions without words and music. My grandson took tapdance and hip hop for 4 years and he was all smiles, giving a very positive review.
