Conceptually entertaining
by Mbed on 2011-05-27National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaThis play presented an interesting concept with tapping representing the theme and words of the dancers/actors. I struggle with the star rating because the play itself did not follow through completely with the concept: the speaking role of the professor was quite overdone. The dancing was superb and the actors showed talent in their musicality and technique, particularly Tip; his ability to carry his disability through his wonderful dancing was excellent. However, I also found the theme juvenile; I would highly recommend it for youth of 10-16 years. Overall, it was quite enjoyable, but the tickets were overpriced and prohibitive for the ideal audience. Perhaps you can see my dilemma in rating!
