Imelda May has a powerhouse voice!

by Pictonite on 2017-07-01The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Imelda obviously poured her heart and soul into writing this current album. Her performance was nothing short of stunning. The band was just as passionate and exceptional as Imelda. What a hard working team! Imelda has the voice of an angel.

    Wow, what a show !!!!!

by DylanNewport on 2017-06-30Danforth Music hall - Toronto

From the opening song "Call Me" to the final song, Imelda May gave her 100% into the music for the crowd. And the music was fantastic. Every song was great and filled with emotion. Imelda May was accompanied by an excellent professional 7 piece band that helped to make all the songs stand out. Songs like "Should've have been You", "Human", "The Girl I used to be", Johnny's Got a Boom Boom" and "Mayhem" really were impressive. There was also new material that left you wanting to hear those songs again. I've seen over 300 concerts and I will remember this as one of the best. The greatest concerts leave you both satisfied and wanting more. This was one of them.

    Imelda

by Daddypops on 2011-08-05The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

The room was HOT but so was the band and Imelda. Great show exactly what I expected from her and the band. The Royal Crowns opening were great as well.

Imelda May, Royal Crowns were awesome

by LarryLion on 2011-08-05The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

The venue sucked, Horseshoe Tavern was way too small, and way underventilated, but the music more than made up for it. Imelda had the audience eating out of her hand, her band was tight and in the groove. The Royal Crowns were an excellent choice as openers, with Danny Bartley on guitar blowing everything away. Watch out, Brian Setzer, you got some heavy competition!

Imelda is all energy and sass. But she speaks with the sweetest Irish accent. Her band is tight rockabilly with major attitude...I have never heard more power from a double bass.

    Majestic Mayhem!

by RockaPetey on 2011-08-04L'Astral - Montreal

From the first chord of the Hellbound Hepcats to Imelda May (and here most excellent band) encore, this was a true treat. Imelda's interaction with the audience, genuine enthusiasm and great voice matched with a superb band made me wonder "why such a small venue?". Maybe next time Metropolis? The Hepcats were notable with great vocals and a simplified Stray Cats vibe. I'll be seeing them again for sure.
