Ira Glass class

Ira was perfection - the sound was not great though ... too much treble maybe?
What a treat to listen to Ira speak and describe the nuances of human emotion and through stories, in a fashion that touches you on every level, regardless of your background. Important points on what the human language was intended for.
Even though this is a scripted event, it largely felt and scripted, and very personal. Our glass does an amazing job connecting with his audience. Do you not need to be a fan of This American Life to enjoy the show.
We loved listening to Mr. Glass and would recommend listening to him anytime. Our seat was upgraded which made the evening even better.
I have never listened to an entire show of this American Life... But had heard great things about it so thought I would give this novel show a try. Ira Glass is humble, and very likeable. However, I really thought the show lacked substance. I was not moved, and did not really laugh much. Perhaps it would have been different if I was a regular listener...but you would think the live show would have been designed to appeal to listeners and non listeners Much of the show was recorded flashbacks from previous shows... I'm sure regular listeners loved this for the nostalgia.., I felt I was paying $64 for what I could have downloaded as a podcast. The dancers were funny, and danced well.,, but really nothing stellar I felt anyone could have done those moves This American life is really just a show targeting a small subset of the American population: NPR listeners, educated, mid-upper class, white...and not me
